UN experts say that since the conflict in Gaza began last year, the Houthis have been “taking advantage of the situation” to “transform” themselves.

According to a United Nations report released on November 1, the Houthi forces in Yemen are transforming themselves into a "powerful military organization" thanks to "unprecedented" military support from outside sources, especially Iran and the Hezbollah movement.
The Houthis, who have controlled large swaths of war-torn Yemen for a decade, have “taken advantage” of the regional situation and increased cooperation with the “axis of resistance,” including Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah, the report said.
The experts note that “the Houthis’ transformation from a local armed group with limited capabilities to a powerful military organization has expanded their operational capabilities far beyond the territories they control.”
According to UN experts, the Houthis also benefit from training and technical assistance provided by the Quds Force, the foreign operations arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as Hezbollah and pro-Iranian groups in Iraq.
