As the initiator and organizer of VFCD since its inception, this year RMIT University Vietnam continues to coordinate with the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS) and diverse partners including individuals, groups, units, and businesses operating in the creative field in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to organize the event with media sponsorship from HanoiGrapevine and creative partner Behalf Studio.
Professor Julia Gaimster - Head of Organizing Committee and Senior Director of Academic, Research and Student Curriculum at RMIT Vietnam, outlined the idea behind the theme of VFCD 2024: "Creative and sustainable regeneration is the process of renewing, restoring or revitalizing a cultural heritage (tangible or intangible), a community or our environment.
The importance of regeneration lies in its potential to transform and create green products, evoking vibrant, sustainable communities or green spaces that are resilient to change.
We are extremely excited to bring VFCD 2024 attendees a variety of events that contribute to solving our global issues in a fresh and friendly way.”
Entering its sixth season, VFCD retains its unique position as Vietnam’s leading creative and design festival, providing an educational, open and timely platform to engage with tens of thousands of audiences both online and offline. Many events are free to attend.
The two main venues for VFCD 2024 activities are the Vietnam Women's Museum (36 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) and Alpha Art Station, 200 Ly Tu Trong, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
RE:GENERATION - the main exhibition of VFCD, will travel from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, showcasing the creative practices, projects and products of emerging designers and artists in both cities. The core message of VFCD will be explored through talks, exhibitions and presentations on the context of each location.

Since 2019, VFCD has made a huge impact in cooperation, partnership, project implementation and networking between individuals and organizations in the public and private sectors in the cultural and creative fields.
By offering a range of creative activities for everyone, VFCD 2024 is a catalytic event that supports the goals of the Cultural Industries Development Strategy in Vietnam, including establishing a strong link between cultural development and the country's socio-economic development.
The festival also supports the establishment of a “creative belt” across the country through the expansion of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in Vietnam.
