The 7th Hanoi International Film Festival takes place from November 7 to 11.

NDO - According to information from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Cinema, with the slogan "Cinema: Creativity - Take Off", the 7th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF VII) will take place from November 7 to 11, including many diverse activities to introduce and honor excellent works from many countries around the world.

This year, HANIFF VII has called for more than 500 works from 40 countries and territories to participate. The Organizing Committee of the Film Festival has established a preliminary selection committee for films participating in HANIFF VII since March. By September 30, the Organizing Committee had selected 11 films to participate in the Feature Film Competition Program (including 1 Vietnamese film, "Ngay Xua Co Mot Chuyen Tinh" by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh). The short film competition program (feature films, documentaries, animations under 60 minutes long) has 10 films from other countries and 10 Vietnamese films. The Panorama program of world cinema (Panorama) has 31 films participating, including 20 feature films and 11 short films. The Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program has 38 films participating, including 20 animations and documentaries, and 18 feature films. This year, the Hanoi International Film Festival chose German Cinema as its focus, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany in 2025. The German Cinema Focus Program has 7 participating films. Within the framework of HANIFF VII, there are two seminars. Seminar 1 has the theme "German Cinema Focus", aiming to share perspectives and lessons learned from German cinema's film production; how to exploit human, social and humanistic themes; analyze creative multi-dimensional storytelling, filmmaking trends... The second seminar has the theme "Developing the production of films exploiting historical themes and adapting from literary works", addressing issues when adapting literary works to cinema; the innovation of filmmakers' thinking when exploiting historical themes; solutions to improve and develop film genres, share international experiences... This year, in addition to the screening locations at the National Cinema Center, films participating in the Film Festival will be screened at some cinemas of CGV, BHD Pham Ngoc Thach... In addition, the Organizing Committee is expected to screen two cineshow nights scheduled at the walking street, with film screenings, exchanges, and meetings with film crews. Also within the framework of the Film Festival, the Exhibition "Vietnam's Heritages Recognized by UNESCO - Experience through Cinema Films" brings images of unique heritages of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO through movies. This is also an event that continues the series of activities to promote tourism - cinema organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism this year. As every year, within the framework of the Film Festival, there is always a Film Project Market to attract young filmmakers, connect filmmakers with producers, and call for film investors.
