Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized that emulation movements at the central and local levels, especially writing contests on advanced models and new rural construction, have contributed significantly to introducing, promoting, promoting emulation movements, encouraging new factors, advanced models in all areas of social life; arousing the spirit of creativity and social responsibility of journalists, actively contributing to building and defending the Fatherland.

However, the Standing Vice President of the Association also pointed out the limitations that need to be overcome. Accordingly, the emulation and reward movement has not developed comprehensively, evenly and continuously; many places are still heavily formalistic, not closely linked to political tasks and propaganda work; some emulation movements have not had a high spreading effect; the work of summarizing and concluding at some levels of the association has not been given due importance.
Many Association-level units have not proactively and promptly given rewards to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities, Association activities, social and charity activities, and have been slow to discover and replicate advanced models; the number of reporters, editors, and full-time staff at the Association who have been proposed for rewards is not high.
"In the coming time, the Vietnam Journalists Association aims to continue to innovate, improve the quality of emulation and reward work, and overcome the limitations that have been pointed out, in order to create stronger motivation for the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press," Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized.

Reporting on the summary of emulation and reward work in 2024, Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, emphasized the importance of effective coordination between the Association and relevant Committees and Ministries. He said that this cooperation has contributed to the success of many writing contests and thematic journalism awards, focusing on key issues of the country.
"We have worked closely to successfully organize writing contests and journalism awards on anti-corruption, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and protecting sea and island sovereignty," said Mr. Tran Trong Dung, adding that the Association has issued guidelines for all levels of the Association to implement patriotic emulation movements, aiming at important historical events of the press and the Association.
One of the bright spots in 2024 is the positive response of the association at all levels and press agencies to the movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" and the set of 12 cultural criteria. According to Mr. Tran Trong Dung, this movement has created positive changes in consolidating and building the association to be increasingly clean and strong.

Mr. Tran Trong Dung informed that the Association at all levels closely followed the Regulations on Emulation and Rewards, and the Guidelines for summarizing the emulation and reward work of the Vietnam Journalists Association. In 2024, the Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations; Inter-Associations; and Sub-Associations decided to award Certificates of Merit to 140 groups and 737 individuals. The Emulation and Rewards Council of the Vietnam Journalists Association reviewed the list of rewards and proposed that the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association decide to award Emulation Flags to 21 groups and Certificates of Merit to 28 groups and 51 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's activities in 2024.
At the conference, delegates shared the effectiveness of the High-Quality Journalism Support Program in strengthening expertise and improving the professional skills of journalists during their work; analyzed limitations and difficulties, as well as lessons learned and solutions proposed during the implementation of the program.
The Journalists Association of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received 1 collective certificate of merit and 1 individual certificate of merit for outstanding achievements in professional work and building the Association in 2024.
Within the framework of the conference, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association solemnly recognized and awarded the Emulation Flag of the Association to 21 collectives with outstanding achievements. At the same time, 28 collectives and 51 individuals with outstanding contributions to professional activities and the development of the Association in 2024 received Certificates of Merit from the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The Journalists' Association of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received a collective certificate of merit and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Lan, Vice President of the Journalists' Association of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Editor-in-Chief of To Quoc Electronic Newspaper received an individual certificate of merit for her outstanding achievements in professional work and building the Association in 2024./.
