The 2023 Asian Cup final will be a confrontation between Jordan and host Qatar, taking place at 10pm on February 10. The match will be broadcast live on FPT Play.

Qatar 3-2 Iran.

Before the tournament, these two teams were not considered the top candidates for the championship. Qatar, although the defending champion, has declined compared to the tournament 5 years ago and they are the worst Asian team at the 2022 World Cup. Jordan has never won the Asian Cup and its force is not highly rated.

Jordan were drawn in Group E with South Korea, Bahrain and Malaysia. They finished third in the group stage and will face Iraq in the round of 16.

Against the highly rated Iraq team, coach Hussein Ammouta came up with a reasonable strategy, helping Jordan win 3-2. In the quarter-finals, they defeated the "phenomenon" named Tajikistan with a score of 1-0.

Qatar reached the Asian Cup final for the second consecutive year.

Meeting South Korea again in the semi-finals, Jordan continued to play impressively, defeating Jurgen Klinsmann's team 2-0 thanks to goals from Yazan Al Naimat and Musa Al Tamari.

Meanwhile, Qatar's journey to the semi-finals was relatively smooth. They successively overcame Lebanon, Tajikistan, and China in the group stage. Then, Tintin Marquez's team defeated Palestine in the round of 16 and Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals. Their real challenge was Iran in the semi-finals. The defending champions won 3-2 to advance to the final match.

The final match is also a competition between the two teams' strikers. Akram Afif is aiming for the title of Top Scorer of the 2023 Asian Cup with 5 goals, 1 goal less than the leader Aymen Hussein (Iraq). Jordan's two top scorers are Musa Al Tamari and Yazan Al Naimat, with 3 goals each.

In the past, the two teams faced each other 9 times. Qatar is slightly better with 6 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.

The 2023 Asian Cup final will be held at Lusail Stadium, an 80,000-capacity stadium that hosted the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France.
