New schedule for visiting the 2024 Defence Exhibition.

Locals and tourists can now enter the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition 2024 free of charge from 9:00 AM on December 21st, instead of the originally scheduled 1:30 PM.

The Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 will take place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport, Long Bien District, Hanoi .

More than 200 domestic and international companies and businesses from over 30 countries in ASEAN, Asia, Europe, and America participated in the exhibition, including military powers such as the United States, China, Russia, India, Israel, France, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

The exhibition area covers a total of 100,000 square meters, with both indoor and outdoor sections. This is the second time the Vietnam International Defence Exhibition has been held, following the first one in 2022.

Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the capabilities, technological potential, and weapons and equipment produced by Vietnam's defense industry and those of other countries. In addition to the aforementioned exhibition area, there will also be a Vietnamese cultural space. The exhibition will also feature exchange programs, fostering cooperation between units and businesses, and specialized seminars.

Main tourist areas

The L-shaped outdoor viewing area displays heavy weapons, air defense systems and equipment for the air force, army, and navy, such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, command and control vehicles, and anti-aircraft guns. British and American weapons are also on display, notably the Russian BMP-3ME infantry fighting vehicle, the Rubezh-ME coastal anti-ship missile system, the C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft, and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

In the indoor exhibition area, noteworthy are the various types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including reconnaissance UAVs, suicide UAVs, and multi-purpose UAVs. Visitors will also witness 3D mapping technology, dioramas of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, and virtual reality (VR) technology simulating the events of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

December 19th (Thursday)

- 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM: The opening ceremony is for VIPs and guests with special invitations only. Aerial performances will take place during the opening ceremony.

- 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM: reserved for professional clients.

December 20th (Friday)

- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM: reserved for professional clients.

December 21st (Saturday)

- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM: for professional visitors and the general public (original schedule from 1:30 PM).

December 22nd (Sunday)

- 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM: reserved for professionals and the general public.

Travel to the Defence Exhibition

Gia Lam Airport is located 3.5 km from the center of Hanoi and 28 km from Noi Bai International Airport. It can be reached by various means of transportation including bicycles, motorbikes, cars, taxis, ride-hailing services, and buses. The journey from the center of Hanoi takes approximately 20 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

The main entrance is on Nguyen Son Street, with ample parking outside the exhibition.

If traveling by bus, visitors should choose routes with stops near the exhibition, including routes 69, 100, and E10. The nearest bus stops are Hoang Nhu Tiep Park or the Aviation Medical Center.

- Please present your Citizen Identification Card or passport.
- Smoking, pets, and food or drinks are not allowed in the exhibition area.
