New schedule for visiting the 2024 Defense Exhibition

People and tourists can enter the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 for free from 9:00 a.m. on December 21, instead of 1:30 p.m. as originally scheduled.

Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 takes place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam airport, Long Bien district, Hanoi.

There are more than 200 domestic and foreign units and enterprises from more than 30 countries in the ASEAN region, Asia, Europe, and America participating in the exhibition, including military powers such as the US, China, Russia, India, Israel, France, UK, and Spain.

The exhibition area has a total area of ​​100,000 m2, with indoor and outdoor areas. This is the second time the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition is held, after the first time in 2022.

People will witness the capacity, technological potential, weapons and equipment produced by the defense industry of Vietnam and other countries. In addition to the above-mentioned exhibition area, there will also be a Vietnamese cultural space. The exhibition will also host exchange programs, promote cooperation between units, businesses, and specialized seminars.

Main sightseeing areas

The outdoor exhibition area is arranged in an L-shape, including heavy weapons, air defense systems and equipment - air force, army, navy such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, information command vehicles, anti-aircraft artillery. British and American weapons are also displayed here, notably the Russian BMP-3ME infantry fighting vehicle, the Rubezh-ME shore-to-sea missile system, the C-130J Super Hercules military transport aircraft and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.

In the indoor sightseeing area, the most notable are the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with types such as reconnaissance UAVs, suicide UAVs, and multi-purpose UAVs. Visitors will also witness 3D mapping projection technology, model tables of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, the Ho Chi Minh campaign, and virtual reality (VR) technology simulating the developments of the stages in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.

December 19 (Thursday)

- 9am to 11am: Opening ceremony is for VIPs and invited guests only. Air shows will take place during the opening ceremony.

- 11am to 5pm: for professionals.

December 20 (Friday)

- 9am to 5pm: for professional guests.

December 21 (Saturday)

- 9am to 5pm: for professionals and residents (original schedule from 1:30pm).

December 22 (Sunday)

- 9am to 3pm: for professionals and residents.

Moving to Defense Exhibition

Gia Lam Airport is 3.5 km from the center of Hanoi and 28 km from Noi Bai International Airport. You can travel by all means such as bicycle, motorbike, car, taxi or technology taxi, bus. It will take about 20 minutes to travel from the center of Hanoi under normal traffic conditions.

Main gate on Nguyen Son street, there is a spacious parking lot outside the exhibition.

If traveling by bus, visitors can choose routes with stops near the exhibition including 69, 100 and E10. The nearest bus stations are: Hoang Nhu Tiep Park or Aviation Medical Center.

Some notes

- Present ID card or passport.
- No smoking, pets, food or drinks allowed in the exhibition area.

- The Organizing Committee will record the exhibition for media purposes.
