Ceremony to award the title of "Excellent Teacher" and celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20

On the morning of November 18, the Departmentof Education and Training of Dak Lak province solemnly held the 16th "Excellent Teacher" title award ceremony and celebrated the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024).

Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors in the province.

42 years ago, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers (now the Government ) issued Decision No. 167-HDBT officially taking November 20 every year as Vietnam Teachers' Day. Since then, November 20 every year has truly become a traditional festival for all people and is solemnly celebrated in all localities across the country to honor teachers, honor learning and the Education and Training sector of our country.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the fine traditions of Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20; shared profound and precious memories during their work and teaching.

In recent years, the Education and Training sector of Dak Lak province has achieved many remarkable results. In the 2023-2024 school year, the Education sector has completed the set targets and tasks; the school system has been planned and arranged in a suitable direction; the team of managers and teachers has continuously improved their professional qualifications, effectively meeting the 2018 General Education Program.

Currently, the province has 996 schools from kindergarten to high school, of which 747 schools meet national standards (accounting for 60.92%) with nearly 500,000 students, more than 35,000 managers, teachers and staff; of which 95% of managers and teachers have qualified training or higher; 12 doctors, 1,382 masters.

The quality of key education is maintained and developed. In the 2024 National High School Excellence Exam, 60 students won prizes, an increase of 23 prizes compared to 2023; 3 students were selected for the selection round of national teams to compete in regional and international Olympics in 2024. The quality of mass education is maintained and improved; the high school graduation rate reached 98.36%, an increase of 1.86% compared to the previous school year. The application of information technology, digital transformation, and administrative reform are focused on. Inspection, examination, and educational communication are strengthened.

At the ceremony, authorized by the President, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh awarded the title of "Excellent Teacher" to 4 teachers including: Mr. Pham Dang Khoa - Former Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training; Mr. Do Tuong Hiep - Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training; Ms. Thai Thi My Binh - Chief of Office of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training; Mr. Quach Dinh Bao - Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Primary School, Ea H'leo district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee H'Yim Kđoh acknowledged and commended the achievements that the provincial Education and Training sector has achieved in recent times; congratulated the four teachers who were awarded the title of "Excellent Teacher" by the President. At the same time, he expected that in the following school years, the provincial Education and Training sector will continue to make efforts and strive to complete the assigned tasks well, especially the excellent completion of key tasks in the 2024-2025 school year.

At the meeting, the Department of Education and Training presented flowers to congratulate and express gratitude to the excellent teachers; provincial leaders, former provincial leaders who worked in the education sector and leaders of the Department of Education and Training, leaders of the Education Trade Union of Dak Lak province through the stages.

On this occasion, N'Trang Long Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities was honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag for its excellent and comprehensive completion of educational and training tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in the 2022-2023 school year; 7 individuals who are officials and teachers working in the provincial Education and Training sector were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister for their achievements in education and training from the 2017-2018 school year to the 2022-2023 school year, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
