On the evening of December 11, 2024, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the exhibition and announced the awards of the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024".
Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Party and State, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Propaganda Department, the Central External Relations Department, the Steering Committee for External Information Work; representatives of leaders of central and local ministries and branches.
This is the second year the Contest has been held online on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform at: https://vietnam.vn . Compared to 2023, the Contest has been strongly spread when all 63 provinces and cities have authors participating. Hanoi is leading in the number of entries, followed by Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City. As a result, after 7 months of launching (from March 20, 2024 to October 15, 2024), the Organizing Committee received more than 10,300 photo and video entries.
The contest was also widely promoted on social networks, targeting the overseas Vietnamese community and foreigners. Thanks to that, nearly 600 foreign authors and about 270 overseas Vietnamese authors registered for the contest.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Contest is a testament to the patriotism and passion of people across the country in promoting the image of our country, people, and beautiful cultural traditions to the international community. At the same time, the Contest also shows a new trend in social media work, based on the application of digital technology, digital platforms, and mobilizing the strength of the entire population to develop digital data to effectively serve information and propaganda work.
Many works are presented with a new, objective perspective on life, society and the development of the country and people of Vietnam, conveying the message of a happy, civilized and powerful Vietnam.
Many works have recreated the creative journey of the authors associated with the flow of life in the past year, connecting them with the characters they met and came into contact with. The contest has also helped the authors have special journeys, meeting and honoring, spreading the images and values of special people.
The authors come from different professions, different ages, different ethnicities, different languages, using different devices, but all represent a peaceful, beautiful, dynamically developing and happy Vietnam.
In the photo category, the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Medal to the work "Sweet Happiness" by author Vu Dieu Hoa.
Silver medal, including the work "Racing" on the construction site of 500kV line 3 by Tran Huy Hung from Nam Dinh
And the work "Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte cycling around Hanoi by author Duong Van Giang
Bronze Medal, including 4 works: “Baby” by author Dinh Bao Chau; Vietnamese table tennis team wins historic SEA Games gold medal, by author Nguyen Manh Quan; Behind happiness by author Tran Thi Mui;
The Organizing Committee also awarded 10 consolation prizes to the following works: “Flying over the heritage land” by Giang Son Dong; “ Together to complete the mission” by Ngo Viet Trung; “ Happiness on a distant island” by Le Hoang Men; “ Flying happiness” by Dinh Van Quoc Thanh; “ Innocence” by Tran Van Tuan; “ Happy moments” by Nguyen Linh Quoc Vinh; “Southern Vietnamese swimmers reaching out to the ocean” by Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan; “ Happy summer day” by Le Cong Binh; “ Through the Tieu” by Truong Cong Minh; “ Vietnam in me” by Nguyen Hoang Trong.
The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 prize to the most voted work “ Fellowship of Young H'mong Men” by author Meynardo LB. Montealegre (Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam).
In the video category, the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Prize to the work “ Gia Lai Epic Region” by author Nguyen Van Hoan; the Silver Prize to the work “Leng keng di huong – For a happy Vietnam!” by authors Tue Giang, Khanh An, Dieu Huong, Nhat Anh and A Tale of Phu Quoc by author Dau Van Duy; the Bronze Prize to the works “Yen Bai Golden Season” by author Le Tuan Thanh, “Tay Ninh – Sacred Land of the South” by author Nguyen Dinh Dong Giao, “Ho Chi Minh city from above” by author Nguyen Dang Viet Cuong.
In the Video category, the Organizing Committee also awarded 10 consolation prizes including: “ HUE – AWAKENING THE PRINCESS”, “I JUST NEED MY CHILD TO BE HAPPY – A LESBIAN LOVE STORY OF TWO ETHNIC MINORITY BOYS”, “Happiness in every step”, “Hoang Su Phi - A journey of complete experience”, “Central Sea”, “Nha Trang - Prosperous and Happy City”, “Vung Tau - A Livable City”, “Stealing the sun, bringing electricity to the village”, “ CHARMING VIETNAM”, “Happiness when donating land to open a road in Luc Yen (Yen Bai)”.
The Organizing Committee also awarded the most voted video prize to the work " Check in Vietnam - Promoting Hanoi check in map" by Check in VietNam.
