CYSEEX Information Security Exercise Closing Ceremony Quarter I/2025: Attack Surface Management

On April 10, 2025, the Cyber Security Alliance (CYSEEX) held the event "CYSEEX Cyber Security Exercise Summary Quarter I/2025" marking an important milestone in enhancing the cyber defense capabilities of the CYSEEX Alliance.

The event was organized with 02 activities: first, summarizing the results of activities in the first quarter of 2025; second, sharing experiences in implementing attack surface control - a key factor in building a modern multi-layered defense layer: "Attack Surface Management - The Key to Defense in Depth".

The closing ceremony was attended by the Alliance's Board of Directors and guests and partners:

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company, Chairman of CYSEEX Alliance;
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Director of Security and Information Technology, MISA Joint Stock Company, Head of the Organizing Committee;
Mr. Truong Tuan Lam - Director of IT Center, Bao Viet Group;
Mr. Nguyen Minh Quy – Co-Founder, SAPO Joint Stock Company;
Mr. Hoang Hanh Phuc - Director of Security Infrastructure, Sapo Joint Stock Company, Deputy Head of Organizing Committee;
Mr. Le Cong Trung - Head of Cyber Security Department, Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation;
Mr. Nguyen Trung Duong - Head of Cloud and Infrastructure Department, BRAVO Software Joint Stock Company;
Mr. Vo Tran Manh - Deputy Head of Security Department, Bao Viet Group.

The CYSEEX Information Security Exercise Program is held monthly with the following objectives:

Test and evaluate the ability of the exercise unit to respond to external attack situations;
Improve the capacity and knowledge of the Information Security (SSS) and Information System Management (ISM) teams on cyber attacks and building effective defense systems.
Check and improve the unit's IT security coordination with specialized IT security organizations in case of cyber attacks.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Vice Chairman of MISA Board of Directors, Chairman of CYSEEX Alliance shared the development plan, opening up an overall picture of strategic innovations and breakthrough opportunities of CYSEEX Alliance in the future.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Hoang - Director of MISA Security and Information presented a report on the results of the CYSEEX exercise in the first quarter of 2025 and the experiences gained during the exercise.

The CYSEEX Information Security Exercise in the first quarter of 2025 saw the participation of Cyseex Alliance members including: MISA, SAPO, Bao Viet, Bravo along with guests from EVN and VTC. The attack and defense teams had fierce competitions and achieved many impressive results.

Specifically:

1. February exercise:

For MISA information system: First Prize – Viettel Solution, Second Prize – SAPO, Third Prize – BRAVO;

For BRAVO information system: First Prize – Bao Viet, Second Prize – MISA, Third Prize – VTC.

2. March exercise:

For Bao Viet information system: First Prize – Viettel Solution, Second Prize – SAPO, Third Prize – MISA;

For SAPO information system: First Prize – MISA, Second Prize – Bao Viet, Third Prize – Viettel Solution.

3. Best defensive team : BRAVO.

Within the framework of the event, MISA representatives shared their experience in implementing Attack Surface Management – The Key to Defense in Depth. Thereby, emphasizing the importance of building a multi-layered defense to prevent security risks.

Mr. Bui Duc Truong - Head of MISA Information Security Department presented the paper "Attack Surface Management - The Key to Defense in Depth".

Experts discussed enthusiastically around the topic of “Attack Surface Management”.

The Closing Ceremony of the CYSEEX Information Security Exercise in the first quarter of 2025 was a great success, opening a new chapter in enhancing security capabilities and responding to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity challenges. In addition, CYSEEX Alliance members also demonstrated a spirit of readiness, solidarity and high determination to overcome all difficulties ahead.

In particular, the Information Security Exercise Series in the first quarter of 2025 will continue to serve as a professional launching pad, where experts can improve their capacity, spread their experience and gradually become pioneers in protecting digital space, contributing to building a more solid, modern and comprehensive network security system.
