North-South Expressway Technical Opening Ceremony: 4 more sections completed

The North-South Eastern Expressway Project has a total length of 729 km, divided into 12 component projects, passing through 12 provinces and cities. The total investment is more than 146,990 billion VND from the state budget according to Resolution No. 44/2022/QH15. The project is divided into investment phases with a scale of 4 lanes, expected to be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation from 2026.

There are currently 8 sections with a total length of 521 km under construction, striving to open the entire route to traffic in 2025. The completion of 4 sections on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) has special significance, contributing to reducing congestion, improving traffic safety, and shortening travel time from Hanoi to Ha Tinh, Quang Binh; from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Yen.

In addition to enhancing inter-regional connectivity, the project also creates a boost for the development of urban areas, industrial parks, and services along the route; promotes public investment disbursement, contributing to the realization of the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025 and double-digit growth in the period 2026-2030. When completed, the expressway will contribute to reducing logistics costs, increasing the competitiveness of goods, attracting investment, and developing the socio -economy in localities.

The opening of the road on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is expected to reduce traffic congestion, shorten travel time, promote economic and tourism development, increase public investment disbursement and create momentum for sustainable growth in the 2026 - 2030 period.
