Award Ceremony of the Photo and Video Contest "Happy Vietnam

On the evening of December 11, 2024, at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the exhibition and announced the awards of the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024" Photo and Video Contest.

Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Party and State, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Propaganda Department, the Central External Relations Department, the Steering Committee for External Information Work; representatives of leaders of central and local ministries and branches.

This is the second year the Contest has been held online on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform at: https://vietnam.vn . Compared to 2023, the Contest has been strongly spread when all 63 provinces and cities have authors participating. Hanoi is leading in the number of entries, followed by Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City. As a result, after 7 months of launching (from March 20, 2024 to October 15, 2024), the Organizing Committee received more than 10,300 photo and video entries. Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications affirmed that this is an important event to honor people across the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends who apply digital technology to create photos and videos about the image of the country and people of Vietnam.

The creative power and vitality of the people from the first contest in 2023 have spread throughout the country and the world. After the award ceremony last year, the Ministry of Information and Communications organized 15 exhibitions at home and abroad and transferred them to ministries, departments, central agencies and many localities to organize exhibitions at major foreign affairs activities. According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, many authors have perspectives that, although not professional, are vivid, very close to real life, reflecting the many aspects of the concept of happiness. Although the film is very short and the photos are taken by phone, the author still tells a vivid story about the life around him. “Digital technology helps people record, preserve and share the happy moments they see. Happiness is a great thing but it is within us. Happiness is familiar and simple. Sometimes we have happiness but forget or pass by without knowing. The photo and video contest 'Happy Vietnam' conveys the message of saving moments, whether happy or sad, but all towards a better life,” Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared. The contest was also widely promoted on social networks, targeting the Vietnamese community abroad and foreigners. Thanks to that, nearly 600 foreign authors and about 270 Vietnamese authors abroad registered to participate in the contest. According to the Organizing Committee, the Contest is a testament to the spirit of love for the homeland, the enthusiasm of people across the country in promoting the image of the country, people, and beautiful cultural traditions of our nation to the international community. At the same time, the Contest also shows a new trend in social media work, based on the application of digital technology, digital platforms and mobilizing the strength of the entire population to develop digital data to serve information and propaganda work effectively. Many works are presented with a new, objective perspective on life, society and the development of the country and people of Vietnam, conveying the message of a happy, civilized and powerful Vietnam. Many works have recreated the creative journey of the authors associated with the flow of life in the past year, connecting them with the characters they met and came into contact with. The Contest has also helped the authors have special journeys, meeting and honoring, spreading the images and values of special people. The authors come from many different professions, different ages, different ethnicities, different languages, using different devices, but all represent a peaceful, beautiful Vietnam, developing dynamically and being a happy country. In the photo category , the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Medal to the work "Sweet Happiness" by author Vu Dieu Hoa.

Bronze Medals, including 3 works: "Baby" by author Dinh Bao Chau; Vietnam table tennis won the historic SEA Games gold medal, by author Nguyen Manh Quan; Behind the happiness by author Tran Thi Mui; And the Organizing Committee also awarded 10 consolation prizes with the works: "Flying over the heritage land" by author Giang Son Dong; " Together to complete the mission" by author Ngo Viet Trung, " Happiness on the distant island" by author Le Hoang Men: " Flying happiness" by author Dinh Van Quoc Thanh; " Innocent" by author Tran Van Tuan; " Happy moment" by author Nguyen Linh Quoc Vinh; "Vietnamese male swimmers reaching out to the ocean" by author Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan; " Happy summer day" by author Le Cong Binh; " Through the Tieu" by author Truong Cong Minh; " Vietnam in me" by author Nguyen Hoang Trong. The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 prize to the most voted work " Fellowship of Young H'mong Men" by author Meynardo LB. Montealegre (Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam). In the Video category , the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold prize to the work " Gia Lai Epic Region" by author Nguyen Van Hoan.

Silver Prize for the work "Leng keng di han - For a happy Vietnam!" by authors Tue Giang, Khanh An, Dieu Huong, Nhat Anh and A Tale of Phu Quoc by author Dau Van Duy; Bronze Prize for the work "Yen Bai Golden Season" by author Le Tuan Thanh, "Tay Ninh - Sacred Land of the South" by author Nguyen Dinh Dong Giao, "Ho Chi Minh city from above" by author Nguyen Dang Viet Cuong. In the Video category, the Organizing Committee also awarded 10 consolation prizes including: "Hue - Awakening the princess ", "Just need my child to be happy - The same-sex love story of two ethnic minority boys", "Happiness in every step", "Hoang Su Phi - a journey of complete experience", "Central Sea", "Nha Trang - Prosperous and Happy City", "Vung Tau - A Livable City", "Stealing the sun, bringing electricity to the village", " CHARMING VIETNAM", "Happiness when donating land to open a road in Luc Yen (Yen Bai)". The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 most voted video prize to the work " Check in Vietnam - Promoting Hanoi check-in map" by Check in VietNam.
