On this occasion, Le Quy Don High School held an inauguration ceremony for the self-study area for all students of the school. This is a self-study area donated by the parents of the students of the school, with wifi system, camera...
During the 150th opening ceremony, Le Quy Don High School inaugurated a self-study area to create a comfortable and spacious space for students to study and work in groups outside of class hours, following the teaching "No wisdom, no prosperity" of scholar Le Quy Don.
Le Quy Don High School was started in 1874 and completed in 1877, teaching from primary to baccalaureate according to the French curriculum. When it was first established, the school was named Collège Indigène (native high school), and was soon changed to Collège Chasseloup Laubat.
In 1954, the school changed its name to Jean Jacques Rousseau (name of a French intellectual in the 18th century "Enlightenment" movement) to avoid recalling colonial times, but still managed by the French, mainly teaching Vietnamese students.
In 1970, the school was returned to the Vietnamese and renamed Le Quy Don Education Center, teaching students from grades 1 to 12.
After the country was unified, in 1977, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee signed a decision to establish Le Quy Don High School.
