The first national Peace Festival was held

For generations, peace and development have always been the ardent aspirations of all mankind. Peace is considered the most invaluable gift of each nation, people and the whole world that needs to be protected and maintained.

Peace not only has profound humanistic values ​​but is also the basic condition, the essential foundation, the final destination for sustainable development and prosperity in the world as well as in each country and region. Peace is the ultimate goal of international cooperation and a common value of humanity.

Throughout the thousands of years of history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people, the spirit of peace and harmony, the morality of "Using great justice to defeat cruelty, using benevolence to replace violence" has permeated the blood of every Vietnamese citizen.

The art performances highlight the desire for peace.

President Ho Chi Minh, the hero of Vietnam's national liberation and a world cultural celebrity, is the most beautiful symbol of aspiration, courage, intelligence and ideology of peace, friendship and cooperation for mutual development among the peoples of the world. In his will before passing away, he expressed his burning desire for a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam - and that has always been the wish of the entire Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed: After many wars, thanks to peace, Vietnam has risen from a poor country to a middle-income country, aiming to become a developed, high-income country by 2045 - more than anyone else, the Vietnamese people deeply understand the value of peace.

Applying Ho Chi Minh's thought, Vietnam has always been consistent in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, being a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community for peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development in the world.

Vietnam has successfully fulfilled many important responsibilities at multilateral forums and actively contributed to maintaining world peace. 2024 marks exactly 10 years since Vietnam deployed its forces to participate in the United Nations peacekeeping missions in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Abyei region and at the United Nations Headquarters, which was highly appreciated by the international community.

Located in the Central region of the country, with an important strategic position, Quang Tri - is a miniature image of Vietnam. The land that has experienced the fierceness of war, witnessed, felt and deeply understood the pain of war, the pain of separation; Quang Tri is also the place that feels most fully the aspiration to live, the aspiration for peace, independence, freedom, the aspiration for unity and territorial integrity of the nation.

Every inch of land, every river, every place in this land bears the mark of a time of bombs and bullets, with the aspiration for life and peace of the nation awakening the conscience of peace-loving humanity in the world. The late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong said: “Peace is not a gift given, but the result of the struggle and efforts of the entire nation.”

With the attention and support of the Party, the State, the Central Committees, Ministries, Branches, and Organizations, the provinces and cities across the country, and international friends, along with the great efforts of the Party Committee, the Government, and the People in the province, "The sacred land has blossomed with peace" - Quang Tri has truly revived, developed, and risen above the ashes and ruins of war. The socio-economic, national defense and security achievements that the province has achieved in nearly 50 years of rebuilding and building the homeland since peace was restored are very valuable.

The young generation responds and wishes to live in a life of Peace.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated the initiative of Quang Tri province in organizing the Festival for Peace. From the land that was once destroyed by war and is now strongly reviving, the Festival will convey the message of the strong vitality of the Vietnamese people who love peace, friendship, cooperation and development; promote national strength with the strength of the times, calling on humanity to join hands to build sustainable peace for the world, especially in the context of the current complicated world situation.

Coming to the Peace Festival in Quang Tri, we feel and nurture the desire for peace for the nation and for humanity; sharing more with the heroic land of Quang Tri, with the loyal and kind-hearted people of Quang Tri. Overcoming many difficulties due to the consequences of war, Quang Tri has promoted the spirit of solidarity, patriotism, the desire to rise up, and maximize the potential to build the homeland to become increasingly rich and prosperous. At the same time, we always pay much attention to preserving, honoring, and promoting the value of cultural heritages, revolutionary history - precious assets and pride of our country and our people.

In particular, the successful organization of the Festival for Peace will contribute to deepening the Vietnamese national value system of "Peace, unity, independence, rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization, happiness" that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has identified as the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.
