On the evening of July 12, at Tay Ho Cultural and Creative Space (Hanoi), Tay Ho District People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Union of Friendship Organizations, Hanoi Moi Newspaper, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Culture and Sports, and the Department of Information and Communications of Hanoi to organize the Hanoi Lotus Festival and introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of the northern mountainous provinces in 2024.

The Hanoi Lotus Festival aims to promote and honor the beauty and cultural values of Hanoi, highlighting the unique value of lotus tea brewing and the unique characteristics of lotus culture in the lives of Hanoians in particular and Vietnamese people in general.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity to promote and stimulate tourism, unleash the potential for developing OCOP products of localities; attract tourists to visit Hanoi, Tay Ho, contributing to the development of local economy and tourism.
Under human creativity, lotus products were present at the event such as lotus flowers, lotus silk, lotus tea, lotus sticky rice, lotus sausage... The highlight of the event was the appearance of thousands of lotus flowers - representing a number of lotus varieties from regions across the country, including the precious lotus varieties of Hanoi and Vietnam.
Colorful lotus flowers are not only displayed in the event decoration area but also present in the OCOP booths, next to the famous West Lake lotus pond, creating a truly impressive space.
The lotus product experience area includes paintings, photos, lacquer, fabric, and poems about lotus from ancient times to the present, which also attracts everyone's attention. Along with the prominent and unique appearance of lotus flowers filling the festival space, the event also introduces more than 100 standard booths displaying OCOP products, specialties of the Northern regions with a variety of diverse products, promising to be an interesting shopping destination for visitors.
Within the framework of the festival, many activities took place such as: Workshop on Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Lotus; Inauguration Ceremony of the Center for Introducing and Selling OCOP Products in Tay Ho District - Trinh Street; Opening of the Lotus Installation Art Space Exhibition; Lotus Photo Exhibition in Vietnamese Life; Survey Program - Conference "Upgrading Service Quality and Connecting Tourist Destinations of Tay Ho District with Travel Agencies in Hanoi in 2024"; Trinh Cong Son and Friends Music Night; Cycling Festival Green Journey of Tay Ho Lotus with the participation of 7,000 cyclists around West Lake...

In particular, the painting "Pure Lotus" by artist Nguyen Thi Kim Duc, which was displayed by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at the 9th National Buddhist Congress (2022), is also displayed at the Hanoi Lotus Festival this time.
Artist Kim Duc shared that she believes and wishes to contribute a small part to share the joy with lotus lovers when Hanoi organizes this unique festival for the first time. The painting of the lotus Lien Hoa Tinh Canh has received the attention and love of many people through the 2023 Vietnamese Lotus Exhibition held at Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi.
The painting was also blessed by eminent Vietnamese monks such as Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang - Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS); Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon - President of the VBS and other leaders of the VBS.
His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa XII and the Supreme Patriarch of Myanmar, Sayadaw Sandimar Bhivamsa, when visiting Vietnam also took time to admire and bless the Lotus Pure Land .
The festival will run until July 16.
