On the evening of November 12, the moment Vietnamese representative Thanh Thuy was named the new Miss International 2024 in Tokyo made Le Hoang Phuong burst into happiness. Watching live via livestream, the 4th runner-up of Miss Grand International 2023 could not hide her emotions when witnessing her "first student" making history for Vietnamese beauty.
Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy's historic victory at Miss International 2024 is not only a personal success but also a source of pride for Le Hoang Phuong - the person who silently stands behind the new beauty queen's impressive catwalks.
Sharing about the 3-month training process before the competition, Le Hoang Phuong said that at first Thanh Thuy was quite unfamiliar with catwalk.
"Thanh Thuy is a very innocent and pure girl. When practicing, she said she knew almost nothing and her catwalk was still instinctive," the beauty born in 1995 recalled.
As a coach, Le Hoang Phuong carefully studies Miss International's style to develop a suitable training method. She and Thanh Thuy maintain a training schedule of at least 2 sessions per week, each session lasting more than two hours.
"I taught Thuy how to catwalk horizontally on the right and left sides because the Miss International stage is usually a horizontal stage. With evening gowns, I taught Thuy to walk half a step, slightly diagonally, slowly to look elegant. When catwalking with a bikini, she had to keep her legs straight, take long strides, and her side angle had to be straight to walk like surfing," she revealed.

"Sometimes when I practice, I have to look good to get a drink, or there is food there but I have to finish practicing before I can eat," she humorously recounted.
Before the final, understanding the pressure of his junior, Le Hoang Phuong sent sincere encouragement: "I told Thuy not to remember any more songs, just do what she feels is good, enjoy every moment on stage."
"For Thanh Thuy, all I do is help her see her own potential and exploit it. Thuy already has the beauty and demeanor that is very suitable for Miss International," Le Hoang Phuong shared.
Currently, in addition to her role as CEO of an architectural company, Le Hoang Phuong will continue her training career as a coach at Miss Student Vietnam 2024 and Miss International Queen Vietnam 2024. The beauty will also participate in the program Dancing with the Stars 2024.
