Ceremony of handing over martyrs' relics and memorabilia to their relatives

DTO - On the morning of April 21, at the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Social Policy (General Department of Politics) coordinated with the Military Command (CHQS) of Dong Thap province to organize a ceremony to hand over relics and memorabilia of martyrs to their relatives.

Colonel Do Dai Cuong - Deputy Head of the Military Rear Department (Department of Social Policy) and Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; representatives of relevant provincial departments and branches; representatives of Lap Vo District People's Committee and relatives of martyrs.


Colonel Do Dai Cuong - Deputy Head of the Army Rear Department (Department of Social Policy) presented relics and memorabilia to Mr. Nguyen Van Cuu (relative of martyr Nguyen Van Tu).

In September 2024, after receiving an official dispatch from the Policy Department (now the Social Policy Department) regarding the verification of soldiers' relatives, the Provincial Military Command coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Home Affairs) to check and review the list and information of martyrs. Thereby, it was found that Mr. Nguyen Van Tu had been recognized as a martyr, with a Certificate of National Merit from the Prime Minister in 1987.


Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee presented flowers and gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van Cuu (relative of martyr Nguyen Van Tu)

Martyr Nguyen Van Tu (born 1929, from Long Hung commune, Thanh Hung district, Dong Thap province), enlisted in November 1951, died in 1957. The martyr's remains have not been gathered.

The martyr's relative is Mr. Nguyen Van Cuu (born in 1968, residing in Long Hung B commune, Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province), nephew and worshiper of martyr Nguyen Van Tu.

At the ceremony, Colonel Do Dai Cuong - Deputy Head of the Army Rear Department (Department of Social Policy) handed over the death certificate and grave card to Mr. Nguyen Van Cuu. Mr. Cuu was moved and shared: “These relics and memorabilia are both invaluable assets and a source of great pride for the family. I will preserve and maintain them solemnly, considering them a part of my family's flesh and blood, as a reminder of the noble sacrifice and sacred values ​​that my uncle - a revolutionary soldier - has devoted himself to.”


Mr. Nguyen Van Cuu spoke after receiving relics and memorabilia of martyr Nguyen Van Tu.

After the handover ceremony of martyrs' relics and memorabilia, the Provincial Military Command continued to coordinate with agencies, units and localities to effectively implement policies and support the lives of martyrs' relatives.

On this occasion, the Department of Social Policy presented gifts to 5 outstanding people including: Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and War Invalids.
