The funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was attended by Politburo members: President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Standing member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong. Also attending were Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and comrades: former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; former Presidents Truong Tan Sang, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vo Van Thuong; former National Assembly Chairmen Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Vuong Dinh Hue.

Also attending the funeral were leaders of the Party, State, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, revolutionary veterans, intellectuals, representatives of agencies, departments, branches, organizations, unions, religions, armed forces and a large number of people from all walks of life, diplomatic corps and international friends.

After the Honor Guard performed the burial ceremony, leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, comrades, compatriots, international friends and family released flowers to send General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to his final resting place.

In deep sorrow, the leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, comrades, compatriots, international friends and family observed a minute of silence to bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a great intellect and talent of the Vietnamese revolution, who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of our Party and nation.

With nearly 60 years of rich and persistent revolutionary activities, Professor, Doctor, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, with his profound and sharp intelligence, has left the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army a valuable system of ideology and theory on the path of the Vietnamese revolution in the new era. Firmly and creatively applying Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, with the goal of national independence and socialism, thinker Nguyen Phu Trong, the theoretical flag of the Party, has clarified the theory of socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam, the role of the Communist Party, the socialist-oriented market economy... That invaluable legacy has strengthened the strong belief in the path to socialism, making an important contribution to the development of the communist movement in the world, developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought in the present era.

With a strategic vision of the international situation in the contemporary world, with constant efforts to contribute to maintaining and preserving a peaceful and stable environment in the region and the world, he opened a new chapter in the relationship between our country and international partners, promoted the friendship between Vietnam and other countries, increased Vietnam's contributions through many commitments and practical actions, closely combined national strength with the strength of the times, and brought our country forward strongly.

Inspiring and leading our entire Party, people and army with intelligence, a noble spirit of humanity and benevolence, with strong will and determination, with the personality and honor of a communist soldier who wholeheartedly serves the Fatherland and the people, with the belief that "Honor is the most sacred and noble thing", steadfast leader Nguyen Phu Trong has continuously built our Party to be increasingly clean and strong, leading our country and our people to successfully implement the path of innovation.

Throughout his revolutionary career, the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has held a particularly important position for Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong. Creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's thought on Party building, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong has deeply clarified the nature of the Party and the building of a ruling Party based on the practice of renovation in Vietnam. Since then, he and the Central Executive Committee have planned and led the successful implementation of strategic policies on Party building and rectification; resolutely and persistently fighting against individualism, against ideological, moral and lifestyle degradation, against corruption and negativity within the Party. This is an extremely arduous and arduous fight against "internal invaders" that makes our Party increasingly clean and strong, affirming its pioneering role, mettle and intelligence, so that our Party can truly be "moral and civilized".

Under his leadership, for the first time, our Party issued a specialized Resolution on building and perfecting the Vietnamese socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, and for the people. As President and Chairman of the National Assembly, he was always concerned and concerned with the issue of building a legislative body that is truly the highest authority of the people, truly democratic and representing the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people; perfecting a synchronous, unified, public, transparent, and feasible legal system, creating a solid legal corridor for proactive, deep, comprehensive international integration and strong national development.

Imbued with Ho Chi Minh's thought, deeply aware of the important position and role of culture "Culture is the soul of the nation", "Culture exists, the nation exists", the great culturalist Nguyen Phu Trong has devoted much enthusiasm and made especially important contributions to building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, truly the spiritual foundation of society, an endogenous strength, an important driving force for national development. Under his leadership, after more than 70 years, our Party has organized a National Conference on Culture - a milestone connecting the thoughts and actions of the entire Party, people and army, strongly promoting the role of culture to realize the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

With a profound and sharp political vision, he raised the level of strategic thinking, creating a new step of development for Vietnam's national defense, security and foreign affairs. That is the idea of protecting the Fatherland early, from afar, protecting the country when the country is not yet in danger; always focusing on building a position of the people's hearts, building a revolutionary armed force that is elite, compact, strong, truly clean and strong; the Army and the Police are united like "two wings of a bird", like "a sword and a shield", joining hands, unanimously, overcoming all difficulties, hardships, sacrifices, maintaining peace and stability for national development. Promoting the pioneering role of comprehensive diplomacy, forming and effectively leading the implementation of the art of diplomacy of the new era imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo" on the basis of the Vietnamese character of "Responding to all changes with unchanging", "peaceful and filial", "using benevolence to replace violence". Under his leadership, Vietnam has become a reliable partner, an active and responsible member in the international arena; continuously integrating deeply and comprehensively into international politics, the world economy and human civilization.

Throughout the ideology of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is the people, the human being, wholeheartedly serving the people, building the new socialist human being and constantly consolidating great unity, first of all unity within the Party, great unity of the entire nation and pure international unity. Comrade is always determined to plan and successfully implement all policies and guidelines that are in line with the people's wishes; firmly maintain the stance, viewpoint and practice of "the people are the root", "the people are the subject and center of the renovation process". A true, sincere and righteous communist always keeps in mind and requires the entire Party and the entire political system to "have the highest responsibility to the people, care for the material and spiritual life of the people", "close connection with the people is the law of existence, development and operation of the Party, is the decisive factor creating the strength of the Party".

He is truly a typical, exemplary, shining example of pure revolutionary mettle and ethics, "impartiality", a simple, honest, sincere lifestyle, a democratic, dedicated, scientific, thorough, decisive working style, consistent between words and actions, respecting and loving people, and being very close to the people; It is truly the nucleus that gathers solidarity and intellectual unity of our entire Party, people and army, respected, trusted and proud by cadres, party members and people, and our compatriots abroad, and appreciated and highly appreciated by international friends.
