Collecting voters' opinions on the Project to rearrange administrative units at provincial and communal levels in 2 days, April 17 and 18

The conference was held online to the bridge points of the People's Committees at district and commune levels in the province.

Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Trung Hoang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Chau Van Hoa, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; members of the Steering Committee and members of the Steering Committee's Working Group to arrange administrative units in the province.

At the conference, comrade Duong Hien Hai Dang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs approved Plan No. 44/KH-UBND, dated April 11, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the collection of voters' opinions on the content of the Project on arranging provincial-level administrative units and the content of the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units of Tra Vinh province.

Comrade Duong Hien Hai Dang, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, approved Plan No. 44 on organizing the collection of voters' opinions on the content of the Project on arranging provincial-level administrative units and the content of the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units of Tra Vinh province.

Accordingly, based on the direction of the Central Government, Tra Vinh province has developed a plan and project to arrange 104 commune-level administrative units (85 communes, 09 wards and 10 towns) into 41 grassroots-level administrative units (including 35 communes and 06 wards), reducing 60.58% of the number of commune-level administrative units according to regulations. Regarding the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, Tra Vinh province, Vinh Long province, and Ben Tre province will be merged into a new province named Vinh Long province; the political and administrative center is currently located in Vinh Long province.

Comrade Duong Hien Hai Dang informed delegates about the necessary contents on the implementation of collecting voters' opinions on the 02 Projects. He requested localities to fully and promptly inform and propagate to voters about the viewpoints, objectives, significance and necessity of the arrangement of administrative units, creating high consensus and unity between Party committees, authorities and people in collecting voters' opinions representing households on the arrangement of administrative units at the provincial and communal levels.

According to the plan, communes, wards and towns agreed to carry out the collection of voters' opinions in 02 days (April 17 and 18). By April 19, districts, towns and cities will synthesize the results of the collection of opinions and send a report form to the Department of Home Affairs before 5:00 p.m. on April 20.

Comrade Le Huu Hien, Deputy Head of the Department of Local Government (Department of Home Affairs), member of the expert team of the Steering Committee for the arrangement of administrative units at provincial and communal levels of Tra Vinh province, guides the implementation of voter opinion forms.

At the conference, delegates proposed a number of contents revolving around the form for collecting opinions, safe and timely implementation methods, propaganda and mobilization work to create consensus among the people regarding the arrangement of administrative units...

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han noted: the implementation of collecting voters' opinions is carried out according to the direction of the Central Government and takes place in a short time, so localities need to pay attention to implementing it in accordance with regulations, each household elects 01 representative to collect opinions, following the form in accordance with the Central Government's instructions. The process of collecting opinions needs to coordinate propaganda, encouragement, and create consensus among people for the Government's policies.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the District Party Committees, Town Party Committees, and City Party Committees to continue to lead localities to effectively carry out the task of collecting opinions as required. Leaders at all levels, sectors, media and members participating in collecting voters' opinions need to thoroughly grasp the documents of the Central Government, grasp and understand the contents and major policies of the Central Government on the arrangement of administrative units in order to do a good job of propaganda so that people understand and agree during the process of collecting opinions.
