Director of Vinh City Medical Center (Nghe An) Hoang The Tung informed that when receiving feedback from residents of Golden City 3 apartment building (Hamlet 19, Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city) about the content that there were dozens of cases living here with signs of stomachache, diarrhea, vomiting... the unit directly sent staff to check and take samples of food and drink related items for verification.

"Water samples have been taken, and authorities are investigating. The list of people experiencing the symptoms mentioned currently includes over 40. Initial investigations suggest the incident is likely related to the water source," Mr. Tung stated.
Ms. H., an apartment owner on the 5th floor of this building, reported that for the past two days, her 5-year-old son and her husband have been experiencing stomach pain and vomiting, with the son also having a slight fever. She was quite worried about the situation affecting many households, but her son and husband are now in stable condition after taking antibiotics.

"For about four days now, the tap water in the apartment building has had an odor and a slight discoloration. Today it's starting to get better. Even though my family boils and cooks our food thoroughly, we're still experiencing the same problem as many other households. I hope the authorities will investigate the cause soon to ensure our health," Ms. H stated.
According to Pham Ngoc Quy, Director of the Nghe An Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department, after receiving information about the incident, initial findings suggest it is likely related to the shared tap water supply in the apartment building.
Specifically, households using bottled water have not reported any symptoms similar to those experienced by households sharing the apartment building's tap water supply. Currently, the unit is deploying professional staff to coordinate and monitor the situation.
