When she came to do the paperwork, Ms. Nga was consulted and introduced to free vocational training. The introduced occupations included: tailoring, food preparation techniques, beverage preparation, nail care (manicure, pedicure)... After that, Ms. Nga decided to study nail care at the Ha Tinh Employment Service Center.
After the vocational training course, Ms. Dau Thi Kieu Nga in Xuan Hai commune, Nghi Xuan district will change her job to have an income to ensure her life.
Ms. Nga said: “With the support level of 1.5 million VND/month, I am not too concerned about the cost of vocational training. After completing the course with a certificate, I will change jobs to earn more income and ensure my life.”
Like Ms. Dau Thi Kieu Nga, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Mai in Ky Phuong Ward, Ky Anh Town, has just quit her job at a medical station after 12 years of working. Ms. Mai said: “At first, I came here to be guided on the procedures for receiving monthly unemployment benefits. When I was introduced to vocational training, I registered immediately. After finishing the course with nail skills in hand, I will go to work abroad and hope to have a high income.”
Unemployed workers who participate in vocational training are supported with 1.5 million VND/month for 6 months.
However, these are only 2 of the very few unemployed workers who received vocational training support to find new jobs. According to statistics from the Ha Tinh Employment Service Center, from the beginning of 2023 to now, 3,435 workers have received unemployment benefits. However, only nearly 79 people registered for vocational training and received vocational training support.
Explaining the reason why workers receiving unemployment benefits are indifferent to vocational training support policies, Mr. Ho Anh Tu - Head of Unemployment Insurance Department (Ha Tinh Employment Service Center) said that the majority of unemployed people are unskilled workers in fields such as garment, footwear, construction, etc., making it difficult to provide job counseling suitable to the workers' qualifications; some businesses still owe social insurance, leading to workers not having time to register for unemployment benefits.
In addition, vocational training is not arranged by training facilities, so workers cannot attend vocational training classes: B2 driving, C driving, excavator driving.
Workers who come to Ha Tinh Employment Service Center to apply for unemployment benefits are given advice, vocational training and job referrals.
According to Mr. Ho Anh Tu, in order to create conditions for workers to understand correctly and fully about unemployment insurance policies, in the coming time, Ha Tinh Employment Service Center will continue to promote propaganda in many forms about new points in regulations on vocational training for unemployed people to businesses and workers...
Strengthening job counseling, referrals and vocational training support for unemployed workers to participate in training courses, fostering and improving vocational skills to overcome the situation where workers only receive unemployment benefits.
