Vietnamese leaders visit and sign condolence book in memory of comrade Khamtay Siphandone in Hanoi

President Luong Cuong visits former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone.

The high-ranking delegation of the Party and State was led by President Luong Cuong; the high-ranking delegation of the Government was led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam was led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh.

The delegations also included Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Party Central Committee members, and representatives of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations. The wreaths of the delegations bore the inscription: “Deeply mourning comrade Khamtay Siphandone”.

President Luong Cuong signed the condolence book in memory of former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone.

President Luong Cuong expressed condolences to the Ambassador, officials and staff of the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam.

After the funeral, the senior leaders were moved to write in the condolence book.

The content of the condolence book written by President Luong Cuong reads: "Deeply mourning comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, an outstanding leader, an outstanding son of the Lao people, a loyal revolutionary soldier who sacrificed his whole life for the independence, freedom, happiness of the people and the prosperous development of Laos."

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone.

Writing in the condolence book, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wrote, “The passing of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone is a great loss to the Lao Party, State and people. The Vietnamese leaders and people have lost a great friend, a close comrade who always strived for the revolutionary cause of the two brotherly countries of Laos and Vietnam and the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Khamtay Siphandone was a senior leader, an outstanding and steadfast revolutionary who devoted his whole life to the Lao revolutionary cause”...

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed the condolence book.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh wrote in the condolence book: “The National Assembly and people of Vietnam will always remember and appreciate the valuable contributions and great support of Comrade in laying a solid foundation, fostering and strengthening the increasingly practical and effective friendship and cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National Assembly of Laos, contributing to promoting and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.”

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed his great emotion and on behalf of the Lao Party, State and people thanked the leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for coming to visit and write in the condolence book to commemorate General Khamtay Siphandone, deeply expressing the special affection, close attachment, pure loyalty, and rarity between the two peoples.

On the same day, delegations from a number of central and local departments, ministries, branches and organizations visited and signed the condolence book in memory of comrade Khamtay Siphandone at the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City.
