The delegation included leaders of Ha Dong district, Chuong My district and representatives of city departments and branches.
In Ha Dong district, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son and the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang (Cau Do 1 Residential Group, Ha Cau Ward, Ha Dong District). Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang is 89 years old this year, a war invalid with a body injury rate of 45%; he participated in military intelligence since 1950; in the period of 1953-1954, he directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. In October 1954, he was a soldier of Division 308, the Vanguard army to liberate the capital Hanoi.
After liberating Hanoi, his unit moved to Dong Chay (Ba Vi district). During this time, he and the entire unit practiced military training and participated in making 3 documentary films about the army during the war such as: Vietnam on the Road to Victory, Infantry of the Three Armies to Fight and Attack; Fighting, Attacking, Defending. In 1962, he transferred to work at the Ministry of Industry, then transferred to the General Department of Forestry and retired.
Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son kindly visited the health and life of Dien Bien soldier Nguyen Minh Thang and his family; at the same time expressed his respect and gratitude for the great contributions and merits of the wounded soldiers in the resistance war against French colonialism, contributing with our army and people to the Dien Bien Phu victory; then participating in the liberation of the Capital.
In Hoang Dieu commune, Chuong My district, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son visited and presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phu (born in 1932, in Bai Truong village). Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phu participated in the resistance war from February 1949 to May 1965 in unit E48, participated in the takeover of the capital; was awarded the resistance medal.
Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Le Ngoc Tiem (born in 1934, in the same village of Bai Truong). Mr. Le Ngoc Tiem joined the resistance war from February 1950 in unit E214, F351 and participated in the liberation of the capital and also had many achievements in the resistance war.
After leaving the army, Mr. Le Ngoc Tiem worked in the Commerce sector and is now retired locally.
At the families, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son kindly inquired about the health and daily life of the veterans.
Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son also expressed his deep gratitude to the predecessors who fought, devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. After returning to their hometowns after being discharged from the army, the veterans always strive to develop their family's economy, contribute to building their homeland and are always shining examples for the younger generation to follow.
The veterans sincerely thanked and expressed their joy and emotion at the attention and encouragement of Hanoi City and districts, and promised to always take the lead in emulation movements, set an example in encouraging their children and grandchildren to develop production, and build their homeland to become more and more prosperous and civilized.
