On the occasion of Buddha's birthday, Buddhist calendar 2557, solar calendar 2023, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Ly city organized delegations to visit and congratulate pagodas in the area.
At the places visited by the delegation, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee congratulated dignitaries, monks, nuns, and Buddhists on a joyful and peaceful Buddha's birthday in the spirit of national solidarity and harmony.
The city leaders acknowledged the important contributions of the local Buddhist Sangha to the socio-economic development results that Phu Ly city has achieved in recent times, especially in propagating to the people to properly implement the policies and laws of the Party and State and local movements and campaigns, especially charity work, social security, etc.
The city leaders hope that dignitaries, monks and nuns will continue to promote their roles, coordinate with local authorities in propagating to people to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws. Each Buddhist is an example in practicing goodness, religious solidarity, contributing to the building of cultural life, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
The dignitaries at the pagodas in the area expressed their deep gratitude for the attention of the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, City Fatherland Front Committee and local Party committees and authorities in Buddhist activities. At the same time, they affirmed that they will continue to encourage monks, nuns and Buddhists to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, charity and humanitarian activities, contributing to the development of their homeland.
During the festival (from the 5th to the 15th of the 4th lunar month), pagodas in Phu Ly city organized Buddhist cultural activities with the theme of Buddha's birthday; praising the homeland and country... organizing ordination ceremonies, preaching about the history and significance of Buddha's birthday; organizing Buddhists to offer incense, flowers, and release lanterns to show gratitude to heroic martyrs who have contributed to the country and the locality. In addition, many pagodas also organized activities to visit, encourage and give gifts to policy families, poor households and orphans on the occasion of Buddha's birthday.
