On November 22, in Kuala Lumpur, within the framework of his official visit to Malaysia, General Secretary To Lam visited the Malaysian National Oil and Gas Group (Petronas) - the leading group in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in terms of brand value and among the top 10 oil and gas companies in the world. General Secretary To Lam congratulated Petronas on its achievements, highly appreciated Petronas Group for accompanying Vietnam from the early stages of innovation and international integration as well as the achievements of more than 30 years of cooperation between Petronas and Petrovietnam.

In an exchange with Petronas leaders, General Secretary To Lam suggested that Petronas soon develop a strategy to promote investment and business in Vietnam in line with the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership recently established between the two countries, and strengthen cooperation in the field of new energy.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam will continue to improve the legal framework, improve the investment and business environment, and simplify administrative procedures to create maximum convenience for businesses to operate effectively and sustainably in Vietnam. Previously, on November 21, witnessed by General Secretary To Lam and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, PetroVietnam and the Malaysian National Oil and Gas Group (Petronas) exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on renewable energy. Currently, PetroVietnam and Petronas have been working closely together to share information, knowledge, and practical experience of mutual interest. As the National Oil and Gas Group, the cooperation between PetroVietnam and Petronas has contributed to bringing economic benefits to both countries. Over the past 30 years, PetroVietnam and Petronas have effectively cooperated in the oil and gas sector in both upstream and downstream, overcoming the ups and downs of the oil and gas industry and becoming reliable partners.
