On December 11, 2024, Comrade Tran Quang Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group joined the working delegation of General Secretary To Lam to visit and work in Dong Thap province.
The Central delegation also included: Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Comrade Tran Hong Ha, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers of the following Ministries: Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and leaders of several Central Ministries and branches.
General Secretary To Lam and comrades in the working delegation visited, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the merits of Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac.

Afterwards, the General Secretary had a working session with the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; the implementation of Directive No. 35-CT/TW of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Reporting at the meeting, Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that with the attention, direction and timely support of the Central Committee, the solidarity, unity, determination to innovate and create, the consensus of the people and the business community, the province has strived to overcome all difficulties and achieved many important results. Many targets of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 have achieved good results, and many targets are forecasted to be exceeded. Social indicators have also achieved many good results, typically: The poverty rate is 1.08% (the poverty rate target is below 3.0%); the criteria for building new rural areas and establishing cooperatives have operated effectively and highly.
Dong Thap Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong said that many targets of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress exceeded the plan.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam commended and highly appreciated the positive results that the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province have achieved in the recent period.
In his speech, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that by 2030, Dong Thap province must develop into a leading province in the Mekong Delta region in building ecological agriculture, modern countryside, and civilized farmers.
The General Secretary emphasized that the province has many advantages and potentials such as geographical location and traffic connectivity, human and human resource potential, etc., so it is necessary to mobilize all resources and promote specific strengths to make a breakthrough, contributing positively to the overall development of the Mekong Delta and the country.
By 2030, Dong Thap province must develop into a leading province in the Mekong Delta in building ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers; sustainably developing the agricultural sector to support the economy. Vision to 2050, Dong Thap will become a pioneer province in innovation and economic restructuring towards modernization, opening up opportunities for new economic sectors: ecological economy, freshwater economy, adaptive agriculture, multimodal transport, health care, etc.

Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, respectfully sent to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution in Dong Thap province his warmest greetings and deep gratitude. * On the same afternoon, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited Tram Chim High School (Tam Nong district) and presented 3 STEM classrooms to Tram Chim High School, Tan Hong High School (Tan Hong district) and Chau Thanh 1 High School (Chau Thanh district).
The General Secretary and delegates visited and presented a STEM education practice room to Tram Chim High School.
The gift from General Secretary To Lam has great significance for the high schools in particular and for the education sector of Dong Thap province in general. This is a vital route of Dong Thap province, the project needs to be completed and put into use as soon as possible, creating favorable conditions for the transportation of goods for Dong Thap province in particular and the provinces of the Mekong Delta in general.
