EVN and EVNNPT leaders urge construction of 500 kV line project, circuit 3

The 500 kV Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa power line project is expected to be completed earliest among the 4 sections of the 500 kV circuit 3 power line project.

On May 21, 2024, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) Dang Hoang An and leaders of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) inspected and urged the construction progress of the 500 kV transmission line project, circuit 3, section Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa Thermal Power Plant, Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant .

The 500 kV 3-circuit line project of Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa is about 74.4 km long, passing through Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces. As of May 21, 2024, the project has completed 180/180 foundation positions, completed and is assembling 171 steel poles, and completed and is pulling 9 anchors.

Erecting poles at the 500 kV transmission line project of Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa

The 500 kV Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant transmission line project is approximately 127 km long, passing through the provinces of Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong and Hung Yen. As of May 21, 2024, the project has completed 326/334 foundation positions, supplied 209 steel columns to the construction site, and completed and is installing 177 columns.

At the inspection, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of EVNNPT and the units after the direction to properly arrange and have sufficient forces to participate in erecting poles and pulling wires. Up to now, the 500 kV transmission line project of Nam Dinh I Thermal Power Plant - Thanh Hoa has completed all foundation work; has been and is erecting large quantities of steel poles, along with that all steel poles have been supplied to the construction site.

Therefore, EVN leaders requested EVNNPT and the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) to organize reasonable construction measures to bring this project to the finish line as soon as possible among the four stages of the 500 kV line project, circuit 3.

For the 500 kV transmission line project of Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi Thermal Power Plant , the remaining volume is currently small mainly due to difficult construction conditions in terms of terrain, through fields and lakes. EVN leaders require urgent efforts to complete these foundation positions.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN requested EVNNPT and NPMB to closely monitor the construction situation, and required construction contractors to maximize human resources, equipment, and construction vehicles, and carry out construction "24/7, 3 shifts, 4 crews" to complete the foundation casting of the remaining positions as soon as possible.

Continue to strictly control and urge contractors supplying steel columns; insulators and accessories... to speed up the manufacturing, transportation and supply to the construction site for installation. Strive to hand over all steel columns to the construction site no later than May 26, 2024; insulators and accessories... no later than May 31, 2024.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN requested EVNNPT to regularly inspect and remind the implementation of regulations on labor safety and environmental sanitation of construction contractors at the construction site, comply with and seriously implement the instructions of EVN and EVNNPT. Request construction contractors to systematically, strictly and substantially control labor safety measures for high-altitude climbing to erect poles, install insulation, accessories, stretch and stretch wires, etc. to ensure absolute safety during the construction process, especially in conditions of high construction intensity, overtime, and unusual weather conditions.

At the inspection, representatives of the units participating in the construction of the Project all affirmed that the units had clearly identified the importance of the project, so they mobilized maximum human resources, machinery, and means to focus on erecting poles and pulling wires with the highest determination to complete the project by June 2024 as directed by the Prime Minister.
