This morning (October 10), leaders and former leaders of the Party and State attended the ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital. The program was held in Hanoi .

The 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) was held at the National Convention Center, Hanoi.

Attending were General Secretary,President To Lam and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony to celebrate the anniversary of the General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the country has entered a new era, posing increasingly high tasks for Hanoi. "What must Hanoi do to become a socialist capital" as President Ho Chi Minh wished; what must it do to be worthy of the capital in the new era of development of the country.

Mr. Nguyen Thu, 92 years old, a veteran of Hai Ba Trung district, former officer of Regiment 102 - Capital Regiment, Division 308 - Vanguard Army Division spoke at the ceremony. After 9 years of hardship, deprivation and sacrifice, our army and people achieved the great Dien Bien Phu victory "famous in five continents, shaking the world", forcing the French colonialists to sign the Geneva Agreement on ceasefire in Vietnam.

The performances recreate the fight against invaders and build a civilized, modern Hanoi.

The image recreates the 308th Regiment entering the Capital from the five gates, hundreds of thousands of people from old to young jubilantly poured into the streets, wearing their best clothes, carrying flags and flowers, happily and proudly singing to welcome the victorious army.
