Previously, on April 14, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province held a meeting to celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025, and at the same time established a delegation to visit, present gifts, and celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025 at Monivongsa Pagoda and the Association of Patriotic Solidarity Monks and Nuns of Ca Mau province (Ward 1, Ca Mau city, Ca Mau province).

Ca Mau currently has 21 ethnic minority groups, with more than 12,100 households. Of these, the largest group is the Khmer ethnic group with nearly 10,000 households and more than 41,000 people. The Khmer people of Ca Mau live mainly in rural areas, clustered near areas with Khmer Theravada pagodas for the convenience of performing traditional rituals.
