- According to information from the Department of Home Affairs, on April 15, in Hanoi , the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam and its partners announced the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2024. As a result, Lang Son province achieved 45 points, ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 1.52 points and 9 places compared to 2023.
Specifically, among the 8 component content indicators, Lang Son province achieved the most outstanding results in the field of "Public administrative procedures" with 7.49 points, ranked 7th nationwide, up 13 places compared to 2023. In addition, the content indicators with high rankings are "Participation of people at the grassroots level" with 5.53 points, ranked 10th nationwide, up 7 places compared to 2023; "Publicity and transparency in decision making" with 5.64 points, ranked 11th nationwide, up 12 places compared to 2023 and "Accountability to people" with 4.40 points, ranked 12th nationwide, up 8 places compared to 2023.
In addition, Lang Son province also has some indicators that decreased compared to 2023, which affects the results of the province's 2024 PAPI index such as "E-Governance" (ranked 38th), "Environmental Governance" (ranked 28th) and "Control of corruption in the public sector" (ranked 24th).
PAPI is an important tool that reflects people's experiences and voices on the performance of government agencies at all levels. The 2024 PAPI results are the basis for Lang Son province to continue to promote its strengths, while finding solutions to improve areas of weakness, aiming to further improve the quality of service to the people.
