Lang Son develops border tourism

Identifying that border tourism has great potential, Lang Son province has focused on completing the infrastructure system serving tourism development such as roads, national power grid, information technology infrastructure; building and forming service centers, tourist areas; connecting tourist destinations, historical and cultural relics, and scenic spots on the border such as the Hoang Van Thu Memorial Site, Dong Dang Mau Temple, Thuy Mon Dinh stele house, Dong Dang Citadel relic...

In addition, visitors can "check in" on the border patrol route from Chi Ma border gate (Loc Binh) to Bac Xa (Dinh Lap), where there are many landmarks and majestic landscapes; visit the route from Lang Son city to Dong Dang, Huu Nghi, Tan Thanh; the route from Lang Son city to Bang Tuong (China) in a day with a passport; shop at the Tan Thanh border gate market commercial tourist destination (Van Lang); Huu Nghi international border gate tourist destination; Dong Dang international railway station (Cao Loc)...

Since the beginning of the year, Lang Son has welcomed more than 761,000 visitors (an increase of 13.3% over the same period in 2023), of which more than 22,000 are international visitors; tourism revenue is estimated at more than 540 billion VND. According to Mr. Luu Ba Mac, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lang Son province, investment in infrastructure, development and exploitation of tourism products, routes and tourist destinations in border areas have created unique and competitive products and services, contributing significantly to the development of the local economy, culture, society, foreign affairs, international cooperation and ensuring national defense and security.

Mr. Luu Ba Mac said: “The locality will strengthen investment promotion, promote tourism products, especially cooperate with Guangxi province (China) to invest in a pilot model of the Tan Thanh (Vietnam) - Po Chai (China) Border Tourism Cooperation Area with the types of experiential tours, study and research, traditional education, shopping, entertainment... Lang Son also strengthens digital transformation in border tourism activities; builds a mechanism for regular cooperation and exchange with Guangxi province (China) in organizing activities, managing visitors and developing tourism products”.
