Since applying modern production lines and wastewater treatment systems, Ms. Thuy's family has improved productivity and product quality, shortened time and reduced manual labor, minimizing the risk of environmental pollution.

Ms. Thuy said: “Previously, before investing in a production line and a biogas system to treat wastewater, our family’s production faced many difficulties. Especially the pollution caused by the entire amount of untreated daily wastewater released into the environment, causing stagnation and foul odor. Since investing in a closed production system, we have expanded our production scale, freed up a lot of labor, improved productivity and product quality, and almost completely solved the environmental pollution problem.”

All wastewater from daily production is treated by biogas system.

Since the traditional craft village of Phuong Giai village producing vermicelli and rice cakes was recognized in 2020, 14 households have invested in modern production lines and complete biogas systems. The biogas tank is located deep underground, saving space and ensuring environmental hygiene. In addition, supporting each other in production not only creates connections within the craft village but also contributes to improving product quality, strengthening the reputation and brand of the local traditional craft village.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Secretary of the Party cell of Phuong Giai village said: "With more than 30 production and business households, the craft village produces and sells tons of products to the market every day. The investment in machinery and equipment and the awareness of the people in improving quality and ensuring food safety have increasingly strengthened the brand of the craft village."

Commune and village officials regularly inspect, propagate and encourage members of craft villages to improve product quality and ensure environmental hygiene.

In addition to the efforts of producers, in recent times, local authorities have also strengthened propaganda and mobilized people to expand production scale, focusing on ensuring environmental sanitation for sustainable development.

Ms. Bui Thi Hanh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ky Bac commune said: "To support the sustainable development of craft villages, Ky Bac commune always cares and has policies to encourage people to expand production, ensure food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, and enhance brand reputation. In 2025, the locality will aim to build products that meet 3-star OCOP standards. This is also a way for local clean vermicelli products to be recognized and affirmed in the market, ensuring the rights of producers and consumers".
