The traditional Tet atmosphere of the villages in Northern Vietnam is vividly recreated at Duong Lam.

At Mong Phu communal house yard, there are many interesting activities such as lion dance, experience wrapping banh chung, watching calligraphers write calligraphy, and making to he figurines. This area also displays traditional Tet dishes for locals and tourists to learn about and enjoy.
Visitors can learn about and experience the traditional Tet market space with booths introducing Duong Lam specialties; handicraft products of many famous craft villages such as Chuong village conical hats, Dong Ho paintings, etc.
Artisan Le Van Tuy (Chuong Village, Thanh Oai, Hanoi) brought his conical hat products to the "Vietnamese Village Tet" event in Duong Lam ancient village for the first time. He was surprised when the event attracted a large number of domestic and international tourists.
Traditional folk games such as: Catching loach in a jar, cockfighting, blindfolded pot smashing… are enjoyed by tourists. Many groups of students from the city center also visit the ancient village, join artisans to experience making Dong Ho paintings and conical hats.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Secretary of Son Tay City Party Committee said that it is expected that the number of visitors to the "Vietnamese Village Tet" event could increase 4 to 5 times compared to 2022, including many international tourists and foreign students studying in Vietnam.
"This year, the festival brings together about 40 artisans from many different craft villages to bring visitors the most diverse and attractive experiences. From now until Tet, we will maintain many programs on weekends so that visitors have the opportunity to experience culture and art," said Mr. Tuan.

According to Mr. Tuan, Duong Lam ancient village is promoting the restoration of traditional activities of the people such as making peanut candy, making soy sauce, making lam tea...; experiential activities such as rice planting, folk games and regularly organizing them on weekends.
At Mong Phu Communal House, the Management Board of Duong Lam Ancient Village Relics puts on performances of traditional art forms such as Xam, Tuong, and Cheo to serve tourists on weekends.
At the end of January 2024, the village's culinary tourism product will be one of two typical representatives of Vietnam to be awarded the "ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Product 2024" award by the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum - ATF 2024. Over the centuries, Duong Lam people still hold the secret to preparing famous dishes and gifts such as roasted pork, steamed sugarcane chicken, braised tofu with soy sauce, braised fish, tamarind sauce, peanut candy, stuffed candy, sweet rice cake, sticky rice cake, etc. This award is expected to contribute to spreading the image of Duong Lam to more tourists.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung - CEO of Sunny Vietnam Company, in recent years, Duong Lam tourism has "changed its skin" with many creative spaces, typically Doai Creative and Doai Community spaces of architect Khuat Van Thang, lacquerware production workshop and Village Craft space of artisan Nguyen Tan Phat..., contributing to attracting tourists. Services such as accommodation and dining in the village have also begun to be invested in and developed.
