Spreading traffic culture among workers, civil servants and laborers

Mr. Le Huu Su, a worker at Lao Cai Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, drives a motorbike for dozens of kilometers to get to work every day. Some days, Mr. Su even has to participate in trimming trees on the roads and streets of Lao Cai city and some districts and towns in the province.

The nature of his job requires Mr. Su to regularly participate in traffic, and he has not had time to learn and update his knowledge about ensuring traffic order and safety. Recently, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with agencies, units and localities to organize the program "Union joins hands for traffic safety", Mr. Su is one of more than 300 workers, civil servants and laborers who directly participated.

Mr. Su said: By participating in the program "Union joins hands for traffic safety", I was equipped with more knowledge and skills to operate vehicles safely. In addition, the Organizing Committee also gave me a helmet and free oil change. I find this a very practical program, clearly demonstrating the concern and responsibility of the Provincial Labor Federation in ensuring traffic safety for workers, civil servants and laborers.

In the program "Union joins hands for traffic safety", Lao Cai Urban Environment Joint Stock Company has 12 workers participating, all of whom show a serious and open attitude with the desire to gain more knowledge and experience to participate in traffic safety.

Mr. Giang A Si, a worker at Lao Cai Urban Environment Joint Stock Company, said: I am very happy to participate in the program "Union joins hands for traffic safety". Through the dissemination of legal knowledge on traffic order and safety, I have better understood many new provisions of the law, as well as the administrative penalties for violations of the Law on Traffic Order and Safety, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP. The easiest to remember and understand are the following contents: Participate in traffic with no alcohol concentration in your breath; wear a helmet when riding a motorbike or scooter; drive on the correct side of the road; obey traffic lights and signals; do not speed, overtake recklessly, or weave in and out...

Ensuring safety for workers, not only at the workplace but also on traffic routes, is a shared responsibility of the whole society, in which the Provincial Federation of Labor plays a key role. The organization of the program "Unions join hands for traffic safety" has received enthusiastic response from workers, civil servants, and laborers, and the joint contributions of agencies and enterprises in the province.

Mr. Tran Xuan Quy, Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee said: We highly appreciate the program "Trade Unions join hands for traffic safety" organized by the Provincial Labor Federation. This program demonstrates the active role of trade unions in ensuring traffic safety for union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in the province.

In addition, the organization of the program has created a ripple effect, contributing to building a culture of safe traffic in the community. Activities such as free oil changes and helmet giving demonstrate the practical concern of the trade union organization for the safety of union members when participating in traffic. The program has the participation and coordination of departments, branches, sectors and enterprises in the province, showing the cooperation of the whole system in ensuring traffic safety.

In the context of increasingly complicated traffic, strengthening measures to raise awareness, sense of compliance with traffic laws, and prevent accidents for workers, civil servants, and laborers has become an urgent and regular task of trade unions at all levels in the province.
