On the evening of December 11 at the Hanoi Opera House, the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, will organize the opening ceremony of the exhibition and award ceremony of the photo and video contest "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam 2024".
This is the second time the contest has been held, continuing to affirm the important role of photography and video art in promoting the image of Vietnam and its people.
After 7 months of launching, from March 20 to October 15, 2024, the contest attracted 6,863 authors with 10,327 photo and video works, including 9,657 photos and 670 videos. Notably, 581 international authors and 265 overseas Vietnamese authors participated with nearly 1,000 works, demonstrating the program's cross-border appeal. The jury selected 60 excellent videos and 150 photos for display, of which 34 works received awards.

The total prize value is up to 400 million VND, including 2 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, 6 Bronze Medals, and 20 Encouragement Prizes. The winning works are all meaningful stories, conveying messages about love for the homeland, national pride and the desire for a happy life.
On December 5, speaking to the press, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information, emphasized that after the award ceremony, the works will be exhibited domestically and internationally to promote Vietnam’s achievements in human rights. This is not only an opportunity to spread cultural values, but also contributes to affirming Vietnam’s position in the international arena.
