"The Foreign Information Award is not only a regular Press Award but also a forum for those who love and support Vietnam to create and spread the image of Vietnam, Vietnamese values, and Vietnamese intelligence to the world," said Nguyen Que Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Information Affairs. With nearly 1,300 entries in 10 categories, the 10th National Foreign Information Award continues to attract the attention and participation of domestic and foreign authors.
Evaluating the entries this year, the Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Affairs stated that the highlight is that the form of expression continues to show diversity, modernity, and active use of new media (for products/works in the video clip category). The works/products of foreigners demonstrate a deep vision, objective and positive assessment of Vietnam in many aspects. In particular, this year's Award has entries expressed in many languages, in addition to familiar languages such as English, French, Spanish, this time there are many new languages such as Arabic, Uzbekistan, Sinhala (common language in Sri Lanka)... Receiving works through email has also created convenience for Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and foreigners to send their works/products to participate in the Award. This year's contest, in addition to the large number of participants from central and local agencies and organizations, also has the participation of businesses, journalists, scholars, researchers, artists, especially the participation of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, Vietnamese people abroad, as well as foreigners. The large number of participants with a very serious awareness and meticulous dedication in each product and each work has shown the community's interest in the Award. From there, it also partly shows the stature of the award after more than 10 years of construction. These works have many high application values, both as a message from Vietnam to international friends about a foreign policy that is both independent and self-reliant - but also always shows friendliness and readiness to integrate multilaterally, diversify in foreign affairs and be ready to participate in the process of creating global development, as well as maintaining world peace and contributing to building human civilization. Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Affairs Nguyen Que Lam A highlight of this year's award-winning works is that there are many works with diverse and modern forms of expression as well as many works by foreigners reflecting a positive view of Vietnam. Among them is the music video filmed in Hanoi for the immortal song "Going home". This video has received a lot of attention from audiences at home and abroad, contributing to spreading the cultural values, history, country and people of Vietnam to the world, supporting the development of tourism in Hanoi and Vietnam. The most prominent images of Hanoi capital have been selected for each camera angle in this special video. In addition, initiatives and products with foreign information value include the "Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Headquarters Relic", the birthplace of the first newspaper of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, which is house number 248 - 250 Van Minh Street, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. At this place 100 years ago, from November 1924 to May 1927, with the help of the Communist Party of China, President Ho Chi Minh opened a political training class for Vietnamese youth and founded the newspaper "Thanh Nien" to spread Marxism-Leninism.
In recent years, the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History has renovated, repaired and upgraded the relic and now, anyone who comes here feels like they are entering a "miniature Ho Chi Minh Museum" in Guangzhou. In 2024, the relic site is also honored to welcome high-ranking leaders of our Party and State to visit. With a creative approach and showing the respect of Chinese friends for the Vietnamese revolutionary leader, the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association Headquarters Relic Site was highly appreciated by the Final Jury of the 10th National Award for External Information as an initiative and product with foreign information value. Continuing to innovate, create, and focus on more effective propaganda about the country's foundation and position, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work Nguyen Que Lam also shared that although very positive results have been achieved, along with the new requirements and tasks of external information work in the new period, the National Award for External Information needs to continue to innovate to improve its quality, contribute more effectively to external information work as well as implement the strategic goals set by our Party. "After 10 years of organization, the Award has truly created a movement, a strong driving force for those working in foreign information to constantly innovate and bring quality works. Now, the requirement is to further improve the quality, spread widely abroad, and have a stronger impact so that international friends understand Vietnam better, love Vietnam more, and accompany Vietnam on the path to socialism, supporting the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam", the Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work stated.
Accordingly, in addition to the types of journalism, there should also be many other forms of modern media expression, more creative, more concise, more diverse, and must truly tell attractive, emotional stories about Vietnam. "The Foreign Information Award as well as foreign information work in the coming time need to make every effort and focus to better promote the country's foundation and position, especially when we are entering a new era, an era of prosperity and happiness, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise", the Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Foreign Information Work emphasized.
