In 2020, the Guide Club for Tourist Routes and Sites in Mong Cai City was established, initiated and implemented by the Mong Cai City Youth Union. Club members are youth union members who have been trained and certified as tour guides, participating in introducing and explaining tourist destinations, scenic spots, and relics in the area to tourists. Up to now, after 4 years of establishment, the Club has welcomed and guided more than 150 groups of visitors to visit 15 routes and tourist sites in the area, such as: Xa Tac Temple, Tra Co Tourist Area, Sa Vi Cape, Po Hen Memorial...
Setting specific and clear criteria, each member of the Club must understand all about the cultural and historical relics in the area. Therefore, members constantly strive and learn to improve their speaking skills, their ability to handle situations in order to convey and introduce to tourists the cultural and historical traditions, the beauty bestowed by nature, and the unique marks of the land and people here.
The Club's Board of Directors regularly organizes short-term training programs, inviting lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism (Ha Long University) to train tour guides on tour guiding skills for members. Through training, tour guides improve their editing, introduction, and tour guiding skills at routes and tourist attractions, and handle situations well while working as tour guides.
Mong Cai City Youth Union organizes the 2024 red address journey at Bach Dang stake site (Quang Yen town).
Secretary of the Ka Long Ward Youth Union Bui Huu Dat, a member of the club, shared: “Joining the club, I can contribute my knowledge and youth to the locality through the journey of introducing and promoting historical, cultural and tourism relics. I, like other members, feel very excited and proud to have contributed a small part of our efforts to the overall development of the city.”
In order to help people and tourists easily access and learn about historical sites, recently Mong Cai City Youth Union has deployed QR Codes at red addresses and tourist routes in the area. Up to now, 12 QR Codes have been deployed with automatic explanations at: Milestone 368, Milestone 1368, Tra Co Communal House, Xa Tac Temple, Uncle Ho Memorial House..., attracting a large number of tourists to visit and learn. Through scanning QR Codes, tourists and people can easily access and learn about all the contents of documents, images, and videos introducing an overview of tourist routes.
Implementing the city's policy of developing community tourism, the youth union organizations coordinated with units to paint nearly 2,000 square meters of murals in Hai Son, Vinh Trung, and Vinh Thuc communes. The activity not only beautifies the rural landscape, but also creates more highlights for tourists when they come to visit and experience.
Activities such as cleaning the environment, especially at the beach, by the Youth Union contribute to creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape; at the same time, promoting the pioneering role of young people in developing local tourism.
Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, Deputy Secretary in charge of Mong Cai City Youth Union, said: Local tourism promotion and propaganda activities are always actively and effectively implemented by the Youth Union. To enhance the promotion of local tourism images, the Youth Union creates videos about natural beauty and people to introduce on social networking sites... The Youth Union also organizes experiential activities to visit red address relics in the province to help the Youth Union gain more understanding and rich knowledge about the culture and people of Quang Ninh .
