In recent times, units within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative agencies have made efforts to explore and promote collective intelligence in innovating the content, methods, and forms of propaganda about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style abroad...
More than three years ago, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the leading agency, coordinated with relevant ministries, departments, branches and localities to summarize 10 years of implementing activities "Honoring President Ho Chi Minh, Hero of Vietnamese National Liberation, Outstanding Cultural Man, Abroad", and made recommendations and proposals to continue to more effectively implement activities honoring Uncle Ho abroad.
Based on the summary results, on August 19, 2020, the Secretariat issued Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW on continuing to strengthen the implementation of activities honoring President Ho Chi Minh abroad.
Guide for activities
In recent times, Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW has become a guideline for activities to introduce and widely promote the life, career, ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh in the international community.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as ministries, departments, branches and localities nationwide all closely follow the spirit and core content of the Conclusion in developing plans and implementation activities.
From the perspective of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, inheriting the important achievements of the past decade, activities to honor Uncle Ho continue to be practically and effectively implemented through a network of nearly 100 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
Units within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representative agencies have made efforts to explore and promote collective intelligence in innovating the content, methods, and forms of propaganda about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style abroad.
Forms of honoring Uncle Ho continue to be implemented in a diverse and rich manner, with more emphasis on promoting the meaning and value of Uncle Ho's statues, memorial sites, schools, streets, boulevards, parks, etc. named after him.
Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Ha Kim Ngoc affirmed that these positive results have contributed to widely promoting to international friends the great stature, thoughts and contributions of Uncle Ho to the world; at the same time, thereby helping the overseas Vietnamese community consolidate and promote national pride, towards the homeland and country.
Activities honoring President Ho Chi Minh stem from the love and sincere affection of governments and people around the world, demonstrating respect for President Ho Chi Minh's noble thoughts and personality and the international community's widespread recognition of his great contributions.
In September and October 2022, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay attended and spoke at both the Rally to celebrate the 35th anniversary of UNESCO's Resolution honoring Uncle Ho at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hanoi and UNESCO headquarters, Paris, France, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; in which the event in France was co-sponsored by UNESCO.
Ms. Audrey Azoulay personally expressed her honor to attend the 35th anniversary celebration and emphasized: “His influence still extends far beyond the country's borders... The best way to commemorate Ho Chi Minh's humanistic legacy is to continue to cooperate to protect education, culture and heritage as common values of humanity”.
This continues to affirm the recognition of UNESCO - an important specialized organization of the United Nations, on the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to Vietnam and the world.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, Chairman of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang, Ambassador - Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO Le Thi Hong Van, Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO Pham Vinh Quang, Ms. Djeneba Keita - Deputy Mayor of Montreuil city, Mr. Eric Lafon - Director of the Living History Museum attended the flower offering ceremony at the statue of Uncle Ho in Montreau park, Montreiul city, France, on May 17. Innovation in honoring forms
Over the past three years, ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises have organized and implemented activities to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad, spreading his legacy and ideology around the world; thereby promoting the image of Vietnamese culture, country and people to international friends. However, besides those encouraging results, the implementation of Conclusion 85 still has certain limitations, such as objective difficulties from the Covid-19 pandemic in implementing activities to honor Uncle Ho, resource mobilization, application of digital technology, etc.
In the coming time, the world situation is assessed to continue to change rapidly and profoundly, opening up many great opportunities, but also posing many challenges for the development of countries.
Up to now, the country has gone more than half way through the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. At the National Conferences on foreign affairs and culture to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the important role of culture in the cause of protecting and developing the country sustainably has been affirmed.
In that context, his noble ideals, profound human values and aspirations for a world of peace, equality and happiness need to continue to be honored, propagated, spread and widely promoted to the international community.
This is also the reason why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize, in both direct and online form, a conference to review three years of implementing Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW on continuing to carry out activities honoring President Ho Chi Minh abroad.
The conference, scheduled to take place on October 5 in Hanoi, will be attended by veteran diplomats, representatives of ministries, sectors, localities, heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, scholars, researchers, corporations, businesses, press agencies, etc.
The event will make a practical contribution to the implementation of Conclusion 01 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, including the task of innovating propaganda work, of which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the agencies assigned to implement.
Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said that in the coming period, ministries, departments, branches and localities need to continue to actively promote, introduce and honor the intelligence, qualities, character and noble ideals of President Ho Chi Minh.
Through spreading Uncle Ho's cultural values abroad to develop and deepen multifaceted relations between Vietnam and other countries, enhance the position and prestige of our country, promote patriotism and national pride, and unite the Vietnamese community abroad.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies organized an exhibition on the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; displayed many publications introducing his great stature, thoughts and great contributions to Vietnam and the world.
It can be seen that the great legacies that President Ho Chi Minh left for humanity still retain their value, as Senior Lieutenant General Pascualino Angiolillo - President of the Venezuelan Military Experimental Polytechnic University affirmed at the International Conference "Ho Chi Minh's Legacy for Humanity" in September 2022 in Hanoi: "His thoughts and vision will last forever".
This is a premise and extremely favorable condition to continue implementing Conclusion No. 85-KL/TW in the coming time, in order to promote and disseminate more widely the great legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to continuing to build and develop Vietnamese culture and people.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, in his speech at the National Cultural Conference (November 2021), affirmed his pride that “Our beloved President Ho Chi Minh is not only a genius leader, a great teacher of the Vietnamese Revolution, an outstanding soldier of the international communist and workers' movement, but also an outstanding cultural figure, awarded the glorious title of "World Cultural Celebrity" by the world. The strengthening of activities to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad contributes to strengthening that great pride of the Vietnamese people. |
