First time organizing Cultural Festival of ethnic groups under 10,000 people in Lai Chau

On November 3, thousands of people attended the first Cultural Festival of ethnic groups with a population of less than 10,000 people in Lai Chau province.

The first Cultural Festival of Ethnic Groups with a population of less than 10,000 people was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Lai Chau province in Lai Chau city from November 3-5, 2023.

Participating in this event were 14 ethnic groups with less than 10,000 people, including: O Du, Brau, Ro Mam, Pu Peo, Si La, Cong, Bo Y, Co Lao, Mang, Lo Lo, Chut, Lu, Pa Then and Ngai from 13 provinces, including: Lai Chau, Cao Bang , Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Kon Tum.

The festival is held concurrently with the Lai Chau Provincial Tourism - Culture Week 2023, with the theme "Preserving, promoting and spreading the traditional cultural identity of very small ethnic groups".

Mr. Tong Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee said that this is a great opportunity for Lai Chau to introduce and promote its tourism image to a large audience from all over the country. Therefore, Lai Chau province has prepared very carefully for this event.

Lai Chau Square - The opening ceremony will take place tonight (November 3) with the participation of many art units and travel clubs from the central to local levels.

Since this morning, there have been many activities taking place in the festival space, in which the contents showing the unique cultural features of each ethnic group have attracted the attention of many people and tourists.

A teacher is leading students on a tour to explore culture at exhibition and introduction booths.

Many photographers and cultural researchers were also present to learn about and record this event.

In addition to cultural events, booths introducing products and typical cultures of ethnic groups are also open throughout the festival, such as: exhibition space, introducing cultural products, ornamental plants and tourism products...

... or the content of traditional handicraft performances and introduction of costumes and patterns on costumes of each ethnic group.

Within the framework of the festival, there are also many sports competitions, folk games... In particular, there are also the first Lai Chau province open off-road motorbike race; the second PuTaLeng Vietnam open road paragliding race and the "Conquering Ta Lien Son peak" open mountain climbing race.
