For the first time, there is an award honoring individuals promoting digital transformation in Vietnam.

On the morning of April 15 in Hanoi , the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and VietTimes Magazine officially launched the 8th Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards Voting Program - Vietnam Digital Awards 2025 (VDA 2025).

The Vietnam Digital Transformation Award has been held annually since 2018, sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly the Ministry of Information and Communications ), directed by VDCA.

The VDCA 2025 Award continues to honor agencies and businesses that have made positive and effective contributions to developing the digital economy and improving management and operation efficiency; building a digital government, developing the digital economy and digital society; making Vietnam a strong country in information technology and communications.

Over the past 7 seasons, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards have reached more than 21,000 domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and enterprises, attracting nearly 2,200 entries. The awards have honored more than 400 outstanding state agencies, digital transformation enterprises and typical digital technology products and solutions.

Within the framework of the award, there will be seminars and forums to create a bridge between businesses, agencies, application organizations and technology enterprises, contributing to strongly promoting the process of National Digital Transformation, with the goal of building Vietnam into a leading digital country in the region and the world.

This year's award is also a practical activity responding to the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and the 2025 theme of the National Committee on Digital Transformation: "Comprehensive digital transformation to develop the digital economy, creating new momentum for economic growth."

In addition, this is also a meaningful program in response to National Digital Transformation Day on October 10, contributing to raising awareness among people and the whole society about the role, meaning and benefits of digital transformation.

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong - Chairman of VDCA, Head of the Steering Committee of VDA 2025 Award, former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications shared: “Digital transformation is the responsibility of all agencies, organizations and enterprises, especially in the context of streamlining the apparatus. State agencies at all levels need to pioneer and take the lead in digital transformation to better serve people and businesses. VDA 2025 continues to discover and honor outstanding state agencies and digital transformation enterprises, in addition to typical digital transformation products and solutions."

According to the Organizing Committee, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2025 will have 5 categories including:

- Category 1: Outstanding digital transformation state agency

- Category 2: Outstanding digital transformation businesses and public service units

- Category 3: Outstanding digital technology products, services and solutions

- Category 4: Digital transformation products and solutions for the community

- Category 5: Honoring individuals

The highlight of VDA 2025 is that for the first time there is an award structure to honor individuals with great achievements, contributions, influence and special influence in promoting the application of digital technology and digital transformation in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien - Deputy Head of the Standing Steering Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of VDA 2025, Editor-in-Chief of VietTimes Electronic Magazine said that the category "Honoring individuals" is an important new highlight of the 8th Vietnam Digital Transformation Award.

"The Organizing Committee sets specific criteria for the Individual Honor Award category, in which the honored individuals must meet the voting criteria such as having outstanding achievements in digital transformation activities; having prestige, influence and influence in the industry, field and community; demonstrating a leadership role in creating strong changes in the digital transformation of the locality and region; having great contributions to the development of digital transformation, digital economy and digital society..." said Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien.

The Organizing Committee will accept online applications from April 15 to June 30, 2025 on the program website at: www.vda.com.vn. After that, the Preliminary Selection Council and the Final Selection Council will work to select the most deserving units and products to be honored at the Award Ceremony scheduled to be held in early October 2025, which will be televised and broadcast live on digital platforms./.
