The first time the Laan Ultra Trail race conquered a distance of 160 km

On November 22, at Lat commune, Lac Duong district (Lam Dong), Da Lat City People's Committee, Lac Duong District People's Committee coordinated with Lam An Joint Stock Company (Lac Duong District) to open the Laan Ultra Trail 2024 trail race; at the same time, the 160 km trail race started.

This is a race in response to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival program - 2024. Laan Ultra Trail is one of the famous trail races in Vietnam held in Da Lat City and Lac Duong District, where the running route goes through the forest, passing many picturesque roads, attracting more than 2,600 athletes to participate.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that in addition to domestic athletes, this year Laan Ultra Trail 2024 also attracts many athletes from countries such as France, Italy, Russia, Japan, Thailand, China, Singapore... hoping to bring a large-scale, highly professional playground not only in Vietnam but also internationally. The tournament takes place from November 22 to 24, including distances of 3 km - 10 km - 20 km - 35 km - 55 km - 100 km - 160 km, with the route running through Da Lat city and the districts of Lac Duong, Lam Ha, Dam Rong, Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park and Laan Resort.

Laan Ultra Trail 2024 is the first time that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province has licensed a 160 km trail running distance with 44 athletes participating, with an expected maximum running time of 45 hours. This is the second year that the tournament has been organized by the People's Committee of Da Lat City. The tournament fully meets the requirements of international races, especially being recognized by the UTMB Index (Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc) scoring system, allowing athletes to qualify to participate in ultra-long distance races around the world.

Athletes run 160 km before starting

According to Mr. Viet, the tournament has improved its quality and professionalism by cooperating with a reputable partner, Running Connect, who has many years of experience in organizing professional trail running competitions in Thailand and other countries in the Asia region. This combination has improved the quality of the Laan Ultra Trail from regional to international level.

Laan Ultra Trail 2024 is also the first year to be organized as a sports festival combining culture and cuisine, with a trail running village model along with interesting activities such as introducing Vietnamese culture and cuisine in general, Da Lat specialties in particular from famous chefs in the culinary village, while promoting healthy entertainment activities, connecting the community, thereby introducing, promoting and contributing to promoting tourism in Lam Dong province to domestic and international visitors.
