Deepening economic relations and friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria

After 3 days of active work in the spirit of cooperation and construction, on October 18, in Hanoi, the 12th Session of the Vietnam-Algeria Intergovernmental Committee (ICC) officially closed.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Co-Chairman of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Working Group, highly appreciated the responsible working spirit and efforts of the expert delegations from both sides. The Minister congratulated the results achieved by both sides, including reviewing the results achieved, remaining issues and proposing solutions, as well as identifying feasible cooperation contents in the period of 2024 - 2026 based on the potential, needs of each side and on the basis of the priorities of the two countries.

New cooperation proposals in the fields of finance, trade, agriculture, industry, health, investment, construction, tourism, finance, banking, education and training, culture, sports, tourism, science and technology will actively contribute to promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries and meet the wishes of the Governments and peoples of the two countries.

"During the session, Mr. Ali Aoun - Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production of Algeria had the opportunity to meet with Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue, Ministers of Industry and Trade, and Ministry of Construction of Vietnam. The working sessions demonstrated the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Algeria and the determination to further promote multifaceted cooperation between ministries, sectors, and enterprises of the two countries, bringing economic cooperation to a level commensurate with the good political and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Algeria", Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized.

According to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the signing of the minutes of the 12th Session of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Committee for Cooperation is a legal basis for ministries, branches, agencies and enterprises of both sides to coordinate and effectively implement cooperation activities, programs and projects agreed upon by both sides.

The Minister hopes and requests that ministries, departments, branches and businesses of the two countries promote initiatives, exploit to the fullest the potential and opportunities for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the successful implementation of the commitments reached at the Session.

At the same time, he expressed his belief that the results of the 12th Session of the CPV Central Committee, with a focus on promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation, will make an important contribution to strengthening the comprehensive cooperation, special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Algeria.

Co-chairing the Session, Algerian Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production Ali Aoun expressed his deep gratitude to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and officials of the Ministry of Construction for creating favorable conditions for the Algerian delegation during the past working days in Vietnam.

Minister Ali Aoun was pleased to say that the two sides demonstrated responsibility, seriousness and deep understanding of each other in a friendly working atmosphere as well as important results achieved between the two sides. On that basis, it contributed to strengthening the friendly relations between Vietnam - Algeria and the people of the two countries, towards realizing the set goals...

The 12th session on economic, scientific and technical cooperation comprehensively and objectively assessed the relationship between the two countries, helping the two sides to have more agreement documents, further strengthening the legal framework for bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria.

The cooperation directions discussed by the two sides show the determination to realize concrete and practical cooperation, deepening economic relations, investment projects as well as friendship between the two countries.

Along with that, the organization of the business forum on the sidelines of the Session reflects the common desire of Vietnam and Algeria to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries through creating links between organizations and businessmen to establish in-depth business relationships, demonstrating the interest of the two countries in their inherent potential.

Minister Ali Aoun believes that cooperation will be further enhanced through the signing of draft agreements being finalized by both sides. The agreement to establish a business community will certainly mark an important milestone in implementing the commitments of both sides, bringing economic cooperation to a new level, commensurate with the political relationship between the two countries.

The Minister affirmed that the Session will open a new phase of cooperation between the two countries. The Algerian Government is determined and will not miss any opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam...

At the closing ceremony, the two sides signed the minutes of the 12th Session of the Vietnam - Algeria Joint Committee for Cooperation in Foreign Affairs under the witness of the Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam, the Department of Asia - Oceania (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Vietnam - Algeria delegation.
