On the morning of June 7, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Lo Van Thao, Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district, Nghe An province, said: The district is having specialized departments verify information about more than 100 medical staff having their wages withheld for Covid-19 vaccination.
Con Cuong District Medical Center recovers Covid-19 vaccination fees from more than 100 medical staff
“The verification and clarification aim to ensure payment is in accordance with the law and the rights of medical staff,” said Mr. Thao.
Previously, Con Cuong District Medical Center, Nghe An, made two payments for Covid-19 vaccinations for medical staff in the area.
In the first phase, this unit paid nearly 600 million VND for Covid-19 vaccination for 130 medical staff from 14 units across the district, including 13 commune and town health stations.
In the second phase, Con Cuong District Medical Center made a list to pay more than 1 billion VND to staff of medical units across the district. However, it later collected more than 300 million VND.
Speaking over the phone, Ms. Vi Thi Huong, Director of Con Cuong District Medical Center, said: This amount of money was agreed upon by the district medical center with the heads of medical stations to regulate and pay for the police force, emergency teams, and commune population collaborators who were not entitled to the regime. However, later, the staff did not agree, so it was withdrawn and returned to the budget.
"This is the salary for vaccination and it is true that only medical staff can give vaccinations, but during the fight against the epidemic, other forces such as police, collaborators... also support medical staff a lot.
However, when the medical staff did not agree, the center collected the money to return to the budget, there was no personal gain here," said Ms. Huong.
