Clarifying the reason why male students are forced to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes

On October 23, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that the Department has requested the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district to coordinate with the authorities to verify the content of the clip recording a scene of a male student being forced to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes.

The Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that although the incident happened outside of school, the students must be educated that their actions are illegal. At the same time, the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district must strengthen propaganda work, direct schools to coordinate with local authorities and families to grasp the psychology and manage students during the time they are not at school.

The Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan district also had a quick report on the incident. Accordingly, as soon as information appeared on social networks about a clip of a 9th grade male student at Anh Xuan Secondary School being forced to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes, the unit directly worked with the school and directed how to handle it. The male student forced to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes is VHĐ (grade 9, Anh Xuan Secondary School).

The incident in the clip is real. The student who filmed the clip is Ng.V.Th (a 9E student at Anh Xuan Secondary School). After filming the clip, Th sent it to his friends.

The incident took place at around 9:00 p.m. on October 19, in a field in Nam Anh commune, Nam Dan district. The cause was a previous conflict between Ng.V.Th and VHĐ.

Specifically, after a group activity in Nam Anh commune, Ng.V.Th and Ph.Th.Nh (11th grade student, Mai Hac De High School) met VHĐ on their way home. These two male students forced Đ to eat dirt, smoke 2 cigarettes and swallow the smoke. While Nh was forcing and threatening Đ, Th used his phone to record a clip.

Immediately after discovering the clip circulating on social media, Anh Xuan Secondary School directly reported it to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan District and local authorities. The Department of Education and Training of Nam Dan District coordinated with the Nam Dan District Police to direct the commune police and the school to investigate and clarify the incident.

The principal of Anh Xuan Secondary School and teachers also visited the house to encourage and visit the male student who was forced to eat dirt by his friends. Relatives also took D to the hospital for a health check. On the morning of October 23, the male student VHĐ returned to school.

It is known that the male student who was forced to eat dirt and smoke cigarettes by his friends is in very difficult circumstances. His father recently passed away from cancer.

The incident is currently under further investigation by the authorities.
