Lam Ha: Military recruitment work achieved many results

During the recent visit to the new soldiers of Lam Ha district at the 994 Infantry Regiment (Duc Trong district), the working delegation led by comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhung - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, together with the families of the soldiers who enlisted in 2025, listened to the commander of the training unit report on the training work at the 994 Infantry Regiment of the new soldiers of Lam Ha district. Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhung congratulated and expressed her wish that the soldiers would promote the traditions of their homeland, try to study and train well with an enthusiastic and passionate spirit. At the same time, she believed that the military environment would help the soldiers mature and train themselves with the good qualities of a soldier so that after completing their military service (NVQS), they would return to their locality to continue contributing their youth to build and develop their homeland Lam Dong in general and Lam Ha district in particular.

In 2025, Lam Ha district managed to recruit 1,154 male citizens in the area who were 17 years old. Through review and re-examination, the age of male citizens ready to join the army from 18 to 25 years old was 6,185 citizens, reaching a rate of 4.1% compared to the population. To ensure the correct implementation of the public, fair, democratic process, in accordance with the Law on Military Service for cases of review, classification, exemption, and postponement of military service, Lam Ha district Military Service Council directed its members to strictly implement. Thereby, 2,843 citizens were temporarily postponed from military service; 2,644 citizens were still eligible for military service.

In order to ensure the quantity, the Military Service Council of communes and towns issued a preliminary health examination order for 2,644 citizens. Thereby, 915 citizens were eligible to be called for district-level military service health examination; of which the target was 560 citizens, reaching a rate of 163%. After a thorough examination, 180/560 citizens were eligible to join the army, reaching 32.1%.

Carrying out Party and political work, in 2025, Lam Ha District Military Service Council developed party members to create a source of military service with 3 party members officially enlisting, reaching 2.2% (exceeding 1.2% compared to the target assigned by the province of 1%).

With the goal of "Recruiting people, ensuring that they are safe", in this period, the whole district has 13 citizens with health level 1; 72 citizens with health level 2 and 95 citizens with health level 3. Thereby, the Standing Office of the District Military Service Council has proactively coordinated, creating favorable conditions for military units to study the records and finalize the list with 141 citizens; including 134 official citizens and 7 reserve citizens.

According to the Military Command of Lam Ha district, in the annual military recruitment work, the Military Service Council of the district has performed well the function of advising the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee to lead and direct the People's Committees and Military Service Councils of communes and towns to deploy the stages and steps of military recruitment in accordance with the procedures and guidance documents of the higher levels. In particular, the Military Commands of communes and towns in the district have all promoted their core role, proactively reviewed and grasped the source of citizens of military service age. In addition, they have focused on organizing experience sharing and professional training for the staff directly involved in military recruitment work, thereby closely coordinating the implementation of stages and steps.

Implementing well the stages in the process of reviewing, selecting, and calling citizens to join the army, especially the work of managing and firmly grasping the source of citizens of military age; Lam Ha District Military Service Council properly implemented the process of "3 elections" and "4 public" to ensure true democracy, fairness, and create high consensus among the people. The preliminary selection work in villages and residential groups was strictly implemented, so the number of young people called to join the army all met the 3 criteria: politics, culture, and health...

For example, in the work of reviewing politics and policies, localities in the area have focused on implementing well the stages of grasping sources, screening, and classifying the political quality of citizens. Cases of temporary deferment and exemption from military service are reviewed publicly, democratically, fairly, and in accordance with the law. During the examination process, the Military Service Council of localities develops a strict and serious examination plan; organizes examinations in accordance with instructions and regulations to ensure objective and accurate conclusions on the health quality of each young person...

In addition to doing well in the selection of citizens for military service, the military rear policy has always been well implemented by Party committees and authorities at all levels. This has created conditions for citizens to feel secure when joining the army and serving in the army. In 2025, communes and towns encouraged and organized gifts for citizens joining the army, with an average of 2.1 million VND per gift. For families of young people facing difficulties, conditions have been created to help, such as giving priority to loans for production.

This motto demonstrates a high determination in ensuring the quality and quantity of citizens joining the army, contributing significantly to the task of building a strong Vietnam People's Army, strengthening national defense, and protecting the Fatherland".
