After the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense announced the admission scores (base scores), from now until July 30 is the time for candidates to adjust their admission wishes to military schools. To increase their chances of being admitted to military schools, candidates need to pay special attention to some of the points below!
What score is the deciding factor?
As expected, around the end of August, the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense will approve the admission scores to military academies and schools in the 2023 admission period. Through surveys, the floor scores and admission scores to military schools in recent years have shown to be quite high. Admission scores at top schools tend to be 3 to 6 points higher than the floor scores.
The admission standard score (based on high school graduation scores) for the Military Medical Academy in 2022 is 26.1 points for men and 28.3 points for women. Meanwhile, the minimum score set by the Military Medical Academy for both men and women training as general practitioners in the same year is 22 points. Thus, the admission standard score is 4.1 to 6.3 points higher than the minimum score (depending on each subject). Therefore, to ensure admission in 2022, candidates must have high school graduation exam scores in the three subjects considered for admission higher than the minimum score, corresponding to scores from 4.1 to 6.3.

Or another example, for the Military Technical Academy, in 2022, the highest admission score is 24.5 points (for women), the admission standard score for female candidates is 28.15 points, with the additional index of Math being greater than or equal to 9.4. Thus, the highest admission standard score of the Military Technical Academy in 2022 is 3.65 points higher than the admission standard score, with the additional index of Math.
In 2023, through the announced floor scores, it can be seen that the floor scores for admission to some top military schools have been adjusted downwards compared to previous years. Also according to the assessment from the survey process, this year's admission score is expected to be no higher than in 2022. However, to ensure admission to top military schools as registered, candidates with scores 3 to 6 points higher than the floor score will have a higher chance of being admitted. This will be the deciding factor in the candidate's chance of being admitted.
Must strictly comply with regulations, adjust wishes accordingly
Sharing with the People's Army Newspaper reporter, Colonel Dao Trong Huan, Deputy Head of the Training Department, Political Officer School, especially emphasized that when candidates adjust their admission wishes for their wishes to the Political Officer School, they need to pay attention to writing the correct admission code, not the name of the admission combination. Specifically, candidates write the admission code: 7310202-M1, corresponding to combination A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry); 7310202-M2, corresponding to combination C00 (Literature, History, Geography); 7310202-M3, corresponding to combination D01 (Math, Literature, English). The Political Officer School further noted that each candidate can only register for admission with a single admission code.

According to Colonel Dao Trong Huan, the expected admission score this year of the Political Officer School may decrease slightly compared to 2022, based on the number of applications and the threshold score to ensure input quality.
When registering for admission or changing admission wishes to Military schools, candidates need to pay special attention to the following points to ensure their chances of admission:
Candidates must have passed the preliminary selection, meet all conditions and standards to study at Military schools; must register their highest choice (first choice) at the school of their choice and meet the conditions to apply.
Candidates are required to adjust their admission wishes online on the Admissions Support System or on the National Public Service Portal to one of the Military schools according to the group of schools the candidate has pre-selected.
Specifically, the school groups are defined by the Military Admissions Board as follows: Group 1, including the following academies: Logistics, Navy, Border Guard, Air Defense - Air Force (Command and Staff system); officer schools: Army 1 (for candidates with permanent residence from Quang Binh province to the North), Army 2 (for candidates with permanent residence from Quang Tri province to the South), Politics, Special Forces, Artillery, Armored Vehicles, Chemical Defense, Information, Engineering. Group 2 includes the following academies: Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science. Schools and majors with many admission combinations, candidates can register to change the admission combination within the school or within the major according to regulations.
A very important note for candidates to avoid candidates with high scores but not being admitted is that the academies and schools in the Army only consider admission to the military university and college training system for candidates who have been notified of meeting the preliminary admission requirements and have registered for admission to one of the schools in the school group according to regulations. Therefore, candidates with corresponding scores, but must have been notified of meeting the preliminary admission requirements and have registered for admission to the schools in the above group to be eligible to participate in the admission process.
