Lam Dong supports investors, speeds up implementation of two major projects

Lam Dong supports investors, speeds up the implementation of the Thap Cham Railway Restoration Project and upgrades Lien Khuong Airport to an international airport.

On May 6, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Finance and related units to continue supporting the investor in implementing the Thap Cham Railway Restoration Project.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee requested to advise and propose the Provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation of documents and procedures under the authority of the Provincial People's Committee to speed up the implementation progress of this project (to be completed in May 2024).

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with Lien Khuong Airport and work with the Ministry of Transport to complete the upgrading of Lien Khuong Airport to an international airport and organize an announcement ceremony at an appropriate time.

According to the plan approved by the Prime Minister on the overall development of the national airport system in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Lien Khuong Airport is planned to be an international airport in the period from now to 2030.

Lien Khuong Airport, when upgraded to an international airport, will be the first international airport in the Central Highlands region. When there are regular international flights to and from Lien Khuong, it will create favorable conditions for socio-economic and tourism development of Lam Dong and the Central Highlands provinces in general in the coming time.

The Thap Cham - Da Lat Railway Restoration Project under the PPP method is implemented by the Ministry of Transport as the competent state agency, passing through two localities of Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces. The investor proposed to implement this project is Bach Dang Hotel Trading - Service Joint Stock Company.
