Lam Dong proposes project to build DT.729 route connecting with Binh Thuan

A section of National Highway 28B is being upgraded and expanded.

This is a traffic route connecting Lam Dong with Binh Thuan, passing through Don Duong and Duc Trong districts to help complete the traffic network, synchronize technical infrastructure, promote the economy and ensure national defense and security in the region.

The current DT.729 route is not completely open, many sections are seriously degraded, especially in the rainy season, causing difficulties for travel and potential traffic safety risks. With an investment scale according to the standards of a grade IV mountainous road, the new route will help connect the traffic infrastructure between the two provinces, improve people's lives, promote trade; contribute to the socio-economic development of Don Duong, Duc Trong districts and the whole Lam Dong province, while creating favorable conditions for the development of the tourism industry.

The project is currently proposed in two options, of which option 1 with a 9 m wide roadbed is considered optimal, suitable for the current scale of Highway DH11 and the intersection with Highway 728. If approved, the route will include both new construction (about 10.7 km) and upgraded expansion (about 15.167 km), helping to ensure stable, long-term traffic for the area.

According to the proposal, if approved, the project will be implemented from 2025 to 2028, with capital allocated in stages, ensuring investment efficiency and balancing the local budget. The main items include bridge construction, drainage systems, reinforced curbs and roadbed protection works.

The total length of this project is about 25.8 km. The starting point is at the roundabout of DH11 road and 412B road, near the People's Committee of Quang Lap commune, the end point is at the intersection with DT 728 in Ta Nang commune, Duc Trong.
