Lam Dong: Proposal to invest in 2 wind power projects in Duc Trong

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document assigning the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities based on current regulations, to guide Evision Energy Singapore PTE.LTD (EES - under Envision Energy Group) to carry out procedures for researching and investing in a wind power project in Duc Trong district.

Cau Dat wind power plant in Da Lat - Lam Dong has come into operation.

Previously, EES sent a document to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requesting to study, survey and install wind measuring columns at the Ta Nang and Da Quyn wind power plant projects (Duc Trong district). At the same time, prepare a dossier to add the above projects to the provincial power development plan after receiving the policy and guidance from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

EES is a company specializing in investing, managing and developing renewable energy projects in Vietnam. Based on the information researched and surveyed, the company wishes to invest in these two wind power plants.

In particular, the Ta Nang wind power plant with a capacity of 100MW is located in Ta Nang and Da Quyn communes. This plant plans to connect to the national grid by building a 220kV transformer station at the Ta Nang wind power plant along with a 220kV line nearly 30km long, connecting to the Duc Trong 220kV transformer station.

Da Quyn wind power plant with a capacity of 100MW is located in Da Quyn commune. The connection solution is expected to build a 220kV transformer station at the plant along with a 220kV line about 8.8km long, connecting to the 220kV Tuy Hoa line - Ta Nang wind power plant.

Lam Dong is a locality with great potential for developing renewable energy including wind power and solar power. The average wind speed in Duc Trong district is stable at 7 - 9m/s. According to the national power development plan for the period 2021 - 2030 (with a view to 2050), the total potential capacity allocated for wind power in the region is 2,121MW.

It is known that Lam Dong province currently has 4 wind power plant projects that have been granted investment certificates and investment policy decisions, including: Cau Dat wind power plant, Duc Trong wind power plant, Xuan Truong I and Xuan Truong II wind power plants.

In which, Cau Dat wind power plant project is invested by Dai Duong Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company, the capacity scale of phase 1 is 68.9MW, phase 2 is from 100 - 300MW, has completed investment items, successfully connected to the grid.
