Liu Zheng (33 years old) grew up in a rural family in Hebei Province, China. His parents made a living by farming, and the family's economic conditions were difficult.

Liu was not a good student and attended a private university. Initially, he chose to major in automotive engineering, although he had no passion for the field.

Liu had to work many jobs to pay for his tuition and living expenses during his college years. He worked as a construction worker, a flyer distributor, and a barber shop assistant...

Liu was determined to become educated, skilled, and qualified. However, due to practical considerations, he initially chose a major that he was not interested in. Liu originally wanted to become a lawyer, but it took many years for him to gain the confidence to pursue this dream.

With a firm belief that "knowledge can change destiny", Liu was determined to immerse himself in the academic environment at China's top prestigious university.

After graduating from college with a degree in automotive engineering in 2015, Liu applied to work as a security guard at Peking University (China). He received a modest salary of 3,000 yuan per month (equivalent to 10.5 million VND).

Whenever he had time to work, Liu would audit law school classes. He also asked for textbooks that students no longer used so he could study on his own.

Still, Liu often felt self-conscious about his job. Security guards weren’t allowed in the library, and Liu didn’t enjoy the same benefits as students in the school cafeteria. These little details reminded Liu that he wasn’t actually a law student.

Liu was also hesitant to approach law faculty to ask them to explain some legal knowledge to him. He was afraid that he was "not qualified".

Determined to prove his ability in the legal profession, Liu set a goal of passing the bar exam. Starting in 2016, Liu quietly prepared for the exam and pursued a master's degree in law at Renmin University of China.

In 2021, Liu was transferred from his position as a security guard at Peking University to work directly under the law faculty.

With favorable conditions, Liu often discussed professional knowledge with law students. Lecturers in the department also often gave him good books revolving around legal knowledge. They also often invited him to attend professional seminars.

Despite his best efforts, Liu failed the bar exam five times. He was finally able to pass the exam in 2022 and officially practice law.

After a process of persistent efforts, Liu believes that when an individual persistently pursues a goal, they will naturally encounter a good environment, good luck, and be helped by people around them to achieve their goals.

In January this year, after 10 years working as a security guard at Peking University, Liu quit his job. Thanks to the introduction of a professor in the law department, he got a job at one of the top law firms in Beijing.

Liu quickly adapted to the job and has secured a stable position at the company. Currently, Liu specializes in providing legal advice to clients and handling some of the company's paperwork and procedures.
