Bank interest rates today April 14, 2025, domestic commercial banks continue to keep deposit interest rates unchanged, while foreign bank branches in Vietnam have just adjusted in opposite directions.

Contrary to the general trend, a foreign bank branch in Vietnam, CIMB Bank Vietnam, unexpectedly increased deposit interest rates in April.

According to the latest interest rate schedule of CIMB Bank Vietnam, the interest rates for 1-month, 2-month and 3-month terms have all increased sharply for the interest rates for standard and priority customers.

Accordingly, the 1-month term bank interest rate increased by 0.6%/year, the 2-month term increased by 0.5%/year, and the 3-month term interest rate increased by 0.2%/year.

Currently, CIMB's standard deposit interest rates are as follows: 1-month term 3.8%/year, 2-month term 4%/year, 3-month term 4.2%/year, 6-month term 5%/year, 9-month term 5.1%/year and 12-month term 5.3%/year.

For priority customers, CIMB lists tiered interest rates, under VND10 billion, from VND10 billion to under VND30 billion, and from VND30 billion and above. The interest rate difference between deposit levels is 0.2%/year for terms of 6-12 months, while the interest rate for terms of 1-3 months is the same.

Specifically, the latest savings interest rates listed by CIMB for deposit accounts under VND 10 billion are: 1-month term 4%/year, 2-month term 4.2%/year, 3-month term 4.5%/year, 6-month term 5.2%/year, 9-month term 5.3%/year and 12-month term 5.5%/year.

With a tiered interest rate policy, the highest deposit interest rate at CIMB is 5.9%/year, applied for a 12-month term with deposit accounts from 30 billion VND or more.

For online deposit interest rates on the Zalo Pay platform, CIMB listed the interest rate for 1-month term at 4.3%/year, 3-month term at 4.4%/year, 6-month term at 5.6%/year, 9-month term at 5.6%/year and 12-month term at 5.8%/year.

Meanwhile, Public Bank Vietnam , a bank from Malaysia, announced a new interest rate schedule for deposits in the Vietnamese market with a slight decrease.

According to the VND deposit interest rate table for individual customers (Savings plus) recently announced by Public, deposit interest rates with terms from 6 months to 17 months have simultaneously decreased by 0.1%/year.

Public Bank Vietnam keeps deposit interest rates unchanged for terms of 1-5 months and 18-60 months. Specifically, bank interest rates for terms of 1-2 months are 3.8%/year, and for terms of 3-5 months are 4%/year.

The latest bank interest rate for 6-8 month terms is 5%/year; 9-11 month terms is 5.2%/year; while 12-17 month terms are all listed at 5.5%/year.

The 18-month savings interest rate remains at 5.95%/year, which is also the highest interest rate currently at this bank. The interest rate for 24-60 month terms is at 5.6%/year.

For the basic savings package interest rate, Public Bank Vietnam listed it 0.2% lower per year than the Plus Savings package for terms of 6-60 months, while the interest rate for terms of less than 6 months remained unchanged.

Since February 25, 27 domestic commercial banks have reduced their deposit interest rates by 0.1-1.05% per year. In April alone, several more banks have reduced their deposit interest rates, including VPBank , MB, Eximbank and Nam A Bank.
